World climate conference 2009 greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2, as a reference value), methane(ch4), nitrous oxide (N2O), fluorinated hydrocarbon and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). Most of these greenhouse gases are occured by burning fossil fuels to produce energy and heatness. The Goal is to reduce the CO2 emission until 2020 for more than 20%. (Until 2020 the energy consumption will increase for more than 20%.) This is a very big GOAL!!!

10 Streetlight 10 Maximum efficiency in every detail Efficiency factors LED quality Only state-of-the-art LED technology from wellknown manufacturers with maximum quality is used. Design concept The modular concept enables further efficiency improvements of future LED modules to be optimally exploited. Thermal management The sophisticated thermal management dissipates the heat of the LEDs effectively and thus increases the efficiency of the diode. Photometrics Optimised lighting technology brings the maximum light to the working plane and enables optimal current feed. Control options The intelligent control system enables luminous flux adaptation according to needs and reduces energy costs. 10

11 Lighting technology High Definition Reflector (HD-R) The precisely calculated facetted reflectors split the rays of the High Power LEDs into wide-area light. In this way they illuminate with high precision roads, paths and town squares. They also prevent glare for drivers, pedestrians and residents High Definition Cover (HD-C) The wave-formed cover of the Streetlight 10 is adapted to the emission angle of the light rays. The luminaire head has an all-round frame. The Streetlight 10 module flush fits into this. Light is only guided into the lower hemisphere, making the Streetlight 10 luminaire Dark Sky compatible to 100 percent. 11

12 Lighting technology Streetlight 10 module The High Power LEDs are thermally coupled to the aluminium housing of the module. The complete module is tightly screw-fastened to the luminaire housing. This gives a large contact surface via which the heat of the LEDs is dissipated with maximum efficiency. Secure bonding The High Definition Cover is completely bonded with the module support all-round. Humidity, dirt particles and insects cannot enter to soil the optics. The quality of light is permanently safeguarded. Instant luminous flux The LED module provides full luminous flux immediately after switching on. That means: Standardised light from the beginning, without losses from starting up times as with conventional lamps. Secure mounting Keyhole suspension means easy replacement of the module: The screws only need to be loosened by a few turns. The screw head still holds the module during mounting. 12

Near field No glare for car drivers With Streetlight 10, the risk of glare is significantly reduced with typical observer situations for car drivers in the far, mid and near field areas. With LED luminaires with lens optics on the other hand, approaching traffic participants experience glare, and mainly in the far field. With Streetlight 10, this is avoided thanks to outstanding lighting technology. 13

14 Lighting technology High Definition Reflector: Light distribution over three zones 1 Far field: The central, V-formed facetted reflector guides the main component of emitted light specifically to the far field. Uncontrolled and excessive emission to the ground below the luminaire is prevented. A direct view of the LEDs is impossible for moving traffic participants. 2 Central field: Light is emitted without deflection and with high efficiency from the luminaire. The position of the LEDs is selected so that the diodes from the typical observer position cannot be viewed and direct glare is thus avoided. 3 Near field: The lateral facetted reflector guides the light to the area directly below the luminaire. The light distribution guarantees best possible glare limitation. 14

33 Streetlight 10 Thermal management system of the Streetlight 10 Midi Principle of convection The physical principle of convection is used to highly effectively dissipate the heat produced by the LEDs. Convection describes a flow movement produced by differences in pressure: cool air flows from below to the luminaire housing. A part of the air flow is conducted past the housing on the sides, the other part travels vertically through air apertures in the housing. 46 Energy Efficiency More light, less energy and a reduced CO 2 emission The aim: to create as much light as possible with as low energy consumption as possible. This can be achieved by the combination of excellent lighting technology, latest LED technology, high-quality electronic control units and a precise light distribution. Compared to conventional technology, the energy consumption of a high-quality LED luminaire can be reduced by 8 times. But still the LED luminaire can fulfill the same lighting requirements with less CO 2 emisson. Therefore, it has a strong advantage when it comes to energy efficiency: The transmission level will be increased by several percentage points and thus the performance of the lighting installation as well. This special cover glass is called highly transparent cover glass. White glass for SQ as the lighting enclosure of SQ is relatively small, a special white glass is used in order to further increase the transmission level.
