The metalli oating shall be uniform without notieable pin holes, streaks, thin spots, srathes or banding. The variation in total transmission aross the width, at any portion along the length, shall not exeed 2% over the average. The film shall have a nominal thikness of _ mils ( inhes). A water soluble detakifier shall be inorporated over the pressure sensitive adhesive to failitate handling. The adhesive shall be essentially optially flat and shall meet the following riteria: a. V iewing the film from a distane of ten feet (3 m) at angles up to 45 degrees from either side of the glass, the film itself shall not appear distorted. 3.9 _K M)RSRSM8NL K L UWe%b The Manufaturer shall provide independent test data showing that the window film shall meet the requirements of a Class A Interior F inish for B uilding Materials for both F lame Spread Index and Smoke Development V alues per ASTM E J/N[\M)V)L FTSY/H)V)L V)UfM)TE)H%b The Manufaturer shall provide independent test data showing that the film shall have a surfae oating that is resistant to abrasion suh that, less than 5% inrease of transmitted light haze will result in aordane with ASTM D using 100 yles, 500 grams weight, and the CS10F Calbrase Wheel. )A BDY/H)ZQL [\H)RSH)TUWVDF]UW^HDJ/QUf^F[\L H)~SO/H)M)K H)[\ J/GGK L E8M)UWF[% WJ/O/J/ƒ 4.1 The ADA shall provide doumentation that the ADA is ertified by the Manufaturer to install window film as per the Manufaturer s speifiations and in aordane with speifi requests as to be determined and agreed to by the ustomer. 4.2 Authorization of dealership may be verified through the ompany s 3M I.D. Number. 4.3 The ADA will provide a ommerial building referene list of ten (10) properties where the ADA has installed window film. This list will inlude the following information: * Name of building * The name and telephone number of a management ontat * Type of glass * Type of film * Amount of film installed * Date of ompletion 4.4 Upon request, the ADA will provide a G lass Stress Analysis of the existing glass and proposed glass/film ombination as reommended by the film Manufaturer. 4.5 Upon request, the ADA will provide an appliation analysis to determine available energy ost redution and savings. 48
13 Speifiations Speifiations For Sun Control Window A BDY/H)ZQL [\H)RSH)TUWVDF]UW^HD`DM8TQ]WM)E)UWQ[\H)[ ˆ Š Œ 5.1 The Manufaturer will insure proper quality ontrol during prodution, shipping and inventory, learly identify and label eah film ore with the produt designation and run number. 5.2 The Manufaturer will, upon request and pre-approval, provide 100% finaning for the omplete installation of the window film to the end-user ustomer in either an installment purhase or lease purhase format to be deided upon by ustomer. 5.3 Materials shall be manufatured by: 3M Renewable Energy Division 3M Center B uilding 235 š)a BDJ/GGK L E)M)UWL FT M)RSL TM)UWL FT/b 6.1 ) Examine glass surfaes to reeive new film and verify that they are free from defets and imperfetions whih will affet the final appearane. Corret all suh defiienies before starting film appliation. [\H)GM)[\M)UWL FT/b 6.2 œ a. The window and window framing will be leaned thoroughly with a neutral leaning solution. The inside surfae of the window glass shall be bladed with industrial razors to insure the removal of any foreign ontaminant s. b. Toweling or other absorbent material shall be plaed on the window sill or sash to absorb moisture aumulation generated by the film appliation. TV)UWM)K K M)UfL FT/b 6.3 The film shall be applied as to the speifiations of the Manufaturer by an ADA. a. Materials will be delivered to the job site with the manufaturer s labels intat and legible. b. To minimize waste, the film will be ut to speifiation utilizing a vertial dispenser designed for that purpose. F ilm edges shall be ut neatly and square at a uniform distane of 1/8 " (3mm) to 1/16" (1,5mm) of the window sealing devie.., lean water will be used to remove the water soluble overoat that protets the pressure sensitive adhesive. Water and film slip solution only will be used on the window glass to failitate the proper positioning of the film. d. To insure effiient removal of exess water from the underside of the film and to maximize bonding of the pressure sensitive adhesive, polyplasti bladed squeegees will be utilized. e. Upon ompletion, the film may have a dimpled appearane from residual moisture. Said moisture shall, under reasonable weather onditions, dry flat with no moisture dimples within a period of 30 alendar days when viewed under normal viewing onditions. f. After installation, any left over material will be removed and the work area will be returned to original ondition. Use all neessary means to protet the film before, during and after the installation. ž A BDŸ/K H)M)TL Tm The film may be washed using ommon window leaning solutions, inluding ammonia solutions, 30 days after appliation. In the event that the produt is found to be defetive under warranty, the seller will replae suh quantity of the film proved to be defetive, and will additionally provide the removal and reappliation labor free of harge. 8.2 The film manufaturer (3M) also warrants against glass failure due to thermal shok frature of the glass of the window unit (maximum value $ 500 per window) provided the film is applied to reommended types of glass and the failure ours within sixty (60) months from the start of appliation. Any glass failure must be reviewed by the film manufaturer (3M) prior to replaement.
