Some will have shelves for water plants. Some can accommodate grates for making a hidden reservoir. Rigid ponds are easy to install and are very durable. Flexible Pond Liner Flexible pond liners allow you to create the shape and size pond that suits you and your garden. Being flexible they can conform to most designs. Liners can be joined or cut to any size. Pond liners can come in different thicknesses and materials, but our most common is the 0.5mm UV stabilized PVC. Liner Length= pond Length (L) + Depth (D) x cm (30cm overlap each side) Liner Width= pond Width (W) + Depth (D) x cm L + (D x 2) = Length W + (D x 2) = Width

This is called the Head. Select an appropriate pump from Chart B. Find Your Measurement in the column Head and then read across the table until you find a figure greater than your total Flow rate.

8 5 Tornado Feature Pumps CHOOSING THE PUMP Step 5: Choosing the Pump You will need to determine which type of pump is most suitable. Simply: Work out the flow rate for each feature from Steps 3 & 4 Add up all the Flow for a total flow rate Work out the highest point (in Metres) to which the water will be pumped to. This is called the Head. Select an appropriate pump from Chart B. Find Your Measurement in the column Head and then read across the table until you find a figure greater than your total Flow rate. This will be the pump that you require. Install pump and features and enjoy. Remember it is always better to go to the next size up to allow for friction in the pipework etc. You may choose to run a separate pump just for filtration as this should run 24/7 Tornado Feature Pumps are ideal for use in smaller Water Features and where the water is relatively clean.
