2 BACKGROUND With the emerging growth of Indian economy and its increased dependability on the green energy and renewable sector, it is evident that transi oning to a greener approach for a sustainable economic growth is highly desirable. The falling costs of renewable energy, ambi ous government plans for rapid deployment of renewable energy and increasing financial support from interna onal governments and investors all indicate that the transi on to a low-carbon economy based on this green approach is not only possible, but already underway. Considering that fact, it is highly important to bring together all the small, medium and large players under a common roof through recogni on on their green ini a ves taken. This has presently become an emerging trend to honour them with the Green awards, which not only celebrate the spirit of the new challenges involved in the sector as well as to ensure further growth in this sector through apprecia on. This par cular approach has a vision to move forward with the concept of a greener world, where India being a significant part of the same.
