Chris also provides practical advice, plans and installation supervision for habitat restoration and habitat management and undertakes water quality monitoring, flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling. M e e t O u r C o r e E c o l o g y T e a m SENIOR ECOLOGIST Mark Mulqueeney MA PIEMA Mark has ten years experience in the environmental sector. Initially in environmental management Mark moved into consultancy three years ago and has subsequently worked on a range of infrastructure (OHL), renewable energy, commercial & residential developments. Mark is the ecology team lead at Gavia and subsequently works across a range of disciplines. His skill areas include ornithology, botany, mammal surveys and fisheries. Mark strives to deliver work to a high commercial standard. OPERATIONS DIRECTOR Matthew Hopkins, BSc (Hons) MSc Matt has over twenty years experience in the fields of ecology and aquatic science, EIA and Habitat Regulation Assessments. Matt is our Operations Director & technical lead for freshwater ecology and water quality. He has provided environmental advice relating to site finding and feasibility, EIA submissions, and discharge of planning conditions for over 100 wind farms and 25 hydro developments. Matt holds licences for Freshwater Pearl Mussel & Great Crested Newt.

Her work encompasses projects of varying backgrounds including engineering, environmental and to a lesser degree research. She routinely reviews flood studies and has extensive knowledge of UK acknowledged methodologies including main river studies, flood assessments of urban developments, sustainable urban drainage systems and reservoir studies. SENIOR HYDROLOGIST (TEAM LEAD) David Barratt MA MSc Having worked in Civil Engineering for several years, David joined Gavia in He has extensive experience in flood related projects across the UK, dealing with a range of risk sources including river, surface water and coastal flooding, with a high rate of success in gaining planning permission. David s work spans many sectors including housing, renewables, energy distribution, retail development and EIA. SENIOR HYDROLOGIST Jonathan Cousins MEng Jonathan started as a groundworker for a civil engineering company before gaining a Masters degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. He now has over ten years experience throughout the construction and engineering industry. His consultancy experience spans Peatland Management, geotechnical analysis, groundwater monitoring and modelling assessments, surface water modelling, flood risk management, drainage design, catchment management, and water quality analysis. Jenny s consultancy experience includes habitat and constraint mapping, data collection in the field and map preparation. GIS TECHNICIAN Lauren Jackson BSc Lauren has over fifteen years experience working in ecology in both the UK and Australia. Her work has focussed on ornithology, particularly bird surveys on proposed windfarm sites. Lauren has 16 years experience in data entry and database management and has worked on a variety of different projects whilst at Gavia Environmental Ltd. She has also carried out ornithological fieldwork on windfarm sites in Scotland and Wales.
