1 Energy Resources Required content. You must prepare a digital presentation using all of the bullet points below. You will need at least one slide per topic. The presentations will take 5 to 8 minutes. Provide a basic overview of the energy source to introduce your topic. Define energy Identify the form of energy involved in the energy resource Describe how the energy source generates electricity. o Explain how the energy transformed from one type to another? (example. Mechanical Energy to Electrical Energy) o Show the energy visually with a minimum of 3 graphics. At least 1 graphic must be created by you. [For extra credit build a 3 D model that helps describe this visually.] Using a graphic, show the percentage of electricity in the U.S. generated by this source. (For example: Bar graph, pie chart etc. Identify the advantages of this energy source o Renewable or non renewable o Environmental benefits o Societal benefits Identify the disadvantages of this energy source o Renewable or non renewable o Environmental costs o Societal costs Three or more interesting facts about this energy source. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the energy source by including information o In your own words. No copy/pasted information or rearranged sentences o From a minimum of 5 different sources. (You may include the provided info from Need.org as one of your sources.) 3 questions to quiz your peers over the topic. The class should have learned the answers to these questions from your presentation. Questions may be in the form of short answer, essay, true/false, or multiple choice. Step 1: Choose a topic Solar energy Wind energy Geothermal energy Hydroelectric energy Biomass energy Nuclear energy Coal Petroleum Natural Gas
2 Step 2: Take notes on your topic [Day 1] Create a folder in OneNote and name it Energy Resources Project Copy and paste the resources from the Content library Read and highlight the information on your energy source Step 3: Make a page for weblinks in OneNote [Day 2] Open OneNote and go to your folder named Energy Resources Project Click the + Page button on the bottom to add a new page Name the page Weblinks Google your topic. When you find a good website (education or government sites), copy and paste the URL onto this page. 1. Click the + Page button 2. Place cursor here and name the page weblinks Step 4: Create your info page. For PowerPoint or Sway, this will be slide one For a Website, this will be the home page For a Video, this will be the opening introduction
