2 National vision Our national vision for sustainable development, biodiversity, green economy and ecosystems for Kazakhstan is: an economy with a high level of quality of life for the population, careful and rational use of natural resources for the benefit of present and future generations and in accordance with international environmental obligations accepted by the country. 3 Environmental problems The main environmental problems in Kazakhstan are: - Air pollution; - Deficiency of water resources; - Land degradation (wind, water); - Natural disasters; - Increase in the volume of waste. 3

Green economy indicators: joint project with OECD (within the framework of the country program) Actions (1,2): conducting training seminars, studying international best practices, obtaining methodological and practical assistance, interaction with environmental statistics holders, phased implementation of priority accounts and indicators. 13
