The high grde energy sources re limited nd depleting rpidly. So, it is necessry to mke use of non conventionl sources of energy or to recover the wste het liberted from mny processes. Refrigertion processes liberte lrge mount of het to tmosphere. Wste het liberted from the condenser of refrigertor goes to the tmosphere. This het cn be recovered nd utilized for some other purposes. This project ims t extrcting the wste het from the condenser of the refrigertor with help of wter cooled het exchnger. In this pper, experimentl setup is provided nd redings re tken for different mss flow rtes of cooling wter. As the mss flow rte of cooling wter increses COP of the system increses. Further the results re compred for refrigernts R134 nd the mixture R20/R600. The COP is incresed in cse of wter cooled refrigertor. The COP using R134 is little lesser thn the COP using R20/R600. Index Terms Condenser, COP, Het exchnger, Refrigertion, Refrigernt, R134, R20/R600 I. INTRODUCTION Energy is regrded s the driving force of ny ntion nd it mesures the prosperity of the ntion. Per cpit energy consumption is relted to per cpit income of the country. The developed countries re rpidly using the conventionl sources of energy to fulfill their high industril nd domestic demnds. As the conventionl sources re limited on erth, they will exhust fter short period of time. The engineers nd scientists re striving hrd to mke efficient use of non conventionl sources of energy nd to utilize wste het. Wste het is the het which gets untpped nd relesed to the tmosphere without ny use. It is relesed in the form of hot gses, hot liquid or through rdition to the surrounding. Refrigertion devices liberte lrge mount of wste het. The condenser of the domestic refrigertor emits wste het to the tmosphere. In present work, this wste het through condenser is trpped nd used to het wter with help of wter cooled condenser. The hot wter cn be further used for ny domestic use. This technique not only utilizes the wste het but lso improves the performnce of the refrigertion system nd increses its COP. II. LITERATURE REVIEW N. B. Chudhri et. l. presented n experimentl set up for the wste het recovery through condenser. The experimentl setup consisted of VCC system nd wter cooled het exchnger ws used. Insted of using pump for cooling wter circultion they used Thermo- siphon system. The experimentl results showed tht s the mss flow rte of cooling wter increses, het recovered through cooling wter nd COP of the system increses. Further, they proved tht COP of wter cooled condenser is greter thn tht of ir cooled condenser. Sreejith K. et l. experimentlly nlyzed the effects of wter-cooled condenser in house-hold refrigertor. They used R134 s the refrigernt nd Polyester oil s the lubricnt. The functionlity of ir-cooled nd wter-cooled condenser ws exmined for mny lod situtions. The solutions disply tht the refrigertor functionlity got elevted when wter-cooled condenser ws used in plce of ir-cooled condenser on ll lod situtions. Vedil et l. hve nlyzed hypotheticl method to use the wste het liberted from the vpor compression cycle, to operte vpor bsorption cycle. The solr het hs been provided s wste is not sufficient to run VAS lone. They exmined the effectiveness of combined cooling cycle. Results showed tht overll COP of the combine cycle is greter thn the individul cycles when operted seprtely

From the experimenttion, it ws observed tht fter het retrieving process from the condenser of the refrigertor its overll COP got rised when compred to conventionl refrigertor. Ajoy Bhrgv et l. designed domestic refrigertor to work with R134 ws investigted to ssess the possibility of using mixture of propne nd iso-butne. The performnce of the refrigertor using zeotropic mixture of refrigernt ws investigted nd compred with the performnce of refrigertor when R134, R12, R22, R20, R600 re used s refrigernt. D.O. Ariyo et l. determined cooling cpcities nd other prmeter for refrigertion cycle operting between temperture limits of -2oC (evportor temperture) nd 42oC (condenser temperture). The refrigernts used in the refrigertion cycle nlysis were R134 nd R20/R600. Compressor cpcity of 12W, degree of sub cooling of K nd degree of superheting of 1K were mintined for refrigertion cycles using R134 nd binry mixture of R20/R600. Prmeters such s refrigerting cpcity, mss flow rte, compression work, condenser cpcity nd Coefficient of Performnce (COP) were computed for ech refrigertion cycle. The nlysis showed tht cooling cpcities of the two refrigernts re close enough nd re therefore proposed s substitutes in existing R12 refrigertion systems. III. METHODOLOGY The setup consists of vpor compression refrigertion system. The condenser is wter cooled type. For cooling copper coils re used with dimeter of 3/8. For mesuring the flow of cooling wter, flow meter is mounted t the outlet of the exchnger. A flow control vlve is mounted t the inlet of het exchnger to control the flow rte of cooling wter. Thermocouple is mounted t the outlet of HE to monitor the difference in cooling wter temperture for different mss flow rtes. It could be esily noted tht s the mss flow rte of cooling wter increses its outlet temperture decreses. It quntifies the mount of wter which cn be obtined t prticulr temperture

As the mss flow rte increses quntity of het recovered increses but reduces the temperture of wter vilble. It cn be seen tht mximum het recovered is bout 42 Wtts. Fig. 4.Het Recovered Vs Mss Flow Rte of Wter Mximum COP obtined for refrigernt R134 is 3.12 nd for R20/R600 is 2.33 for mss flow rtes of 23 lph. After incresing the mss flow rte further, the COP strts decresing considerbly. V. CONCLUSION Theoreticl COP of refrigernt R134 nd R20/R600 is found to be nd Actul COP of R134 nd R20/R600 is found experimentlly for different mss flow rtes of wter. It is found tht mximum COP obtined for R134 is 3.1 nd for R20/R600 is 2. for mss flow rte of 23 lph. As the mss flow rte increses COP increses till certin point fter tht COP decreses. COP of R134 is little higher thn the COP of R20/R600. Mximum het recovery for R134 nd R20/R600 is 41.38Wtts nd 44.8 Wtts respectively for mss flow rte of 23 lph. The COP of wter cooled condenser system is greter thn COP of ir cooled condenser. Thus, for R134, we get 23 lph of wter t temperture C nd for R20/600, we get 23 lph of wter t temperture C.
