4 II. What can Organizers do to improve the sustainability of their Championships? Location and Landscaping: Minimize environmental impacts by choosing the most convenient site; Conserve and protect special landscapes Sport facilities: avoid venues with little or no post event usage; reduce location related impacts (landscape, land use); minimize energy consumption; reduce pollution Sports equipment: reduce pollution due to sports equipment; reuse and recycle articles where possible; promote environmentally sound equipment and local manufacturing knowledge Transportation: minimize transportation; promote collective and or public transportation; encourage environmentally friendly transportation 4
5 II. What can Organizers do to improve the sustainability of their Championships? Energy: reduce energy consumption; promote renewable energy and new technologies; promote equipment and facilities with smaller energy demands Accommodation and catering: minimize waste; avoid useless construction Water management and sanitation: satisfy the needs generated by the sports event without endangering the water supply of the region; protect water resources; treat wastewater Waste management: minimize waste to be disposed of and treated; minimize pollution due to waste 5

Rules Amendements ISSF General Technical Rule 6.3.6: Clay Targets for Shotgun Events [ ] Clay targets used in the Olympic Games, ISSF World Championships and World Cups must be eco friendly targets* that comply with appropriate international standards (contact ISSF Headquarters for details). Clay targets used in Continental Games and Championships should be eco friendly targets. RULE INTERPRETATION Requirements for eco friendly clay targets (normal and flash clay targets) according to ISSF General Technical Rule 6.3.6: * Definition of eco friendly clay targets : A clay target (for flash clay targets, including powder) can be considered eco friendly if the clay target meets the following standard: 7

Rules Amendments Eco friendly clay targets standard criteria The compliance with these limits has to be proven by the producer/manufacturer of the targets through submission of an according test report of an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory/institute (specifically accredited for PAH testing) to the ISSF Headquarters. The results of the test report must not be older than 12 months. 8

Rules Amendements Eco friendly clay targets ISSF Clay Target Supplier Pool Manufacturers can apply for testing (technical specifications, uniform high quality, environmental standards) and certification of their clay targets Amongst others by providing a full analytical laboratory test result proof of compliance with the definition of eco friendly clay targets (especially in relation to PAH limits) If clay targets are certified/approved by ISSF, manufacturer may enter into an agreement with ISSF to be included into the ISSF Clay Target Supplier Pool 9

ISSF Ad Hoc Committee Environmental Sustainability Appointed 03/2017 by ISSF President and Executive Committee Environment and sustainability related topics so far mostly handled by the ISSF Technical Committee time related and personnel resources of the Technical Committee were not sufficient. Members: Chairman, Mr. Jörg Brokamp (Chairman ISSF Technical Committee), Demetris Lordos (Chairman ISSF Shotgun Committee), Stefano Rosi (Director Italian Shooting Federation FITAV, Member ESC Environment Committee), Joachim Streitberger (Chairman WFSA Environmental Committee), Dr. Neda Nozari (Member of the ISSF Medical Committee), Robert Mitchell (Member of the ISSF Executive Committee, long time CEO of USA Shooting), Peter Underhill (Chairman ISSF Judges Committee) 10

ISSF Ad Hoc Committee Environmental Sustainability 1 st Meeting to be scheduled within the next few weeks delayed due to the Extraordinary General Assembly in June Important future issues of the Committee: elaboration of common and general ISSF Environmental Sustainability Policy & Guidelines preparation of a Manual on Environmental friendly management of Shooting Sport Facilities with special attention on lead recycling/management, construction, Air Conditioning and Air Pollution Control, Noise Mitigation, eco friendly shotgun targets, recycling systems etc. 11
