2 Dear Applicant Classroom Secrets is a fast-growing company that is creating an ever-expanding bank of resources aimed at the Primary age group. Over the last five years, we have grown from one member of staff to a growing team of twenty-plus and now have over 2000 differentiated sets of resources on our website. Our company is based in our brand-new office in Halifax, West Yorkshire. We create our resources based on the New National Curriculum and make appropriate links to events throughout the academic year. 5 Frequently Asked Questions How often will I need to work in the office? You will need to work in the office for at least 40% of your hours. You will be required in the office 9:30am 12 noon every Tuesday but the rest of your office hours can be done to suit your schedule (as long as this suits the needs of the business) between 8:30am 4:30pm Monday Friday. Are the hours fixed? You can complete your hours at times to suit you including evenings and weekends (providing they meet the needs of the business). Please note though that some hours must be completed within office hours (see above). Can I work term-time only? No. The job continues through both term-time and school holidays. Will I receive any holiday entitlement? You will receive 5.6 weeks throughout the year. Can I do a different number of hours each week? You will be contracted to your hours and must do the same number each week. You can review these hours with us and make a change medium or long term but not on a weekly basis. Can I do additional hours in the school holidays? If you are contracted to less than full time hours, you can arrange to pick up more hours during the school holidays. Will I receive full training? Yes, full training is given on how to create our resources. Expertise in the curriculum - you ll need to bring with you. Do I need my own laptop? If you intend to work from home at any point, you ll need your own laptop. In the office, you can bring your own device or use one of our bookable desktops. Will I need to use a specialist software? No, we use the office suite and we ll train you on clever ways to manipulate the software to the max. If I m working from home, will there be help or support available? Absolutely! We use Skype for Business so there is always someone online to help you with your queries. The team are very supportive and it s lovely to be able to see who else is working at the same time as you and communicate. Do I need experience of teaching across the Key Stages? Experience in one Key Stage is acceptable if you are willing to give resources from other Key Stages a go. Experience across both is beneficial. We welcome visits to the office where you can get a feel for how we work to help you decide if our enterprise is right for you.
