The number of human bank tellers continued to rise, despite the proliferation of ATMs. More efficient labor costs enabled banks to open more branches, which in turn required more human bank tellers. Human bank tellers stopped performing routine tasks (ATM work) and instead focused on higher-value tasks, like selling bank financial products. #FutureOfWork
