2 What is happening at Boeing Occupational Review is a company wide process taking place at The Boeing Company to accurately define and redefine tasks and competencies for each job family and level. Review consists of six primary steps: 1. Background research and current data collection 2. Focus Group Sessions 3. Employee Surveys 4. Mapping from new to old 5. Job Family Manager Review 6. Implementation

3 SPEEA s s Involvement External Process SPEEA representatives observed focus group discussions conducted by Boeing SPEEA sits on the Planning Teams and provides input Article 22 of our Contracts mandates that we sit on the teams Joint SPEEA/Union Relations Committee identifies issues

9 Example Mapping GAFS Technical Illustrator Conceptualizes, researches, creates, and coordinates a variety of technical illustrations, including assembly and disassembly, operation, installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing production and nontraditional products. Applies manual and computer aided graphics technologies and techniques to the creation of technical illustrations used in interactive electronic technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, and conventional paper technical manuals. Ensures compliance of product with commercial, government, and organizational standards and specifications. Interfaces with designers, engineers, and peers to discuss graphics products at various stages of completion. Guides, instructs, and serves as a consultant to illustrators, writers, engineers, and management on issues requiring expertise in illustration standards, processes, and procedures. GAFS G55 (101) GDC3 GDL GDC3 Technical Illustrator Conceptualizes, researches, creates and coordinates technical illustrations that support technical data products. Ensures product compliance with commercial, government and organizational standards and specifications. Maintains illustration control to research, create and revise technical illustrations. Writes and edits processes to document technical manuals processes and procedures. Investigates emerging technologies and contributes to the development of new techniques. Interfaces with others, such as designers, engineers, authors and peers, to review end products and integrate text with graphics. Current Job New Job

10 Discussion Can my salary be changed as a result of this Review? No. Your current salary cannot be changed. However new SRT s s will be developed using the current salary data the Company has. These will be updated when the Company receives new market data. Can my level change? No. The Company agreed that no employee affected by the Review would loose level. Will this affect my retention rating? If your grouping changes then this is a possibility during the next round of retention exercises if the number of employees in your retention group changes.
