1 Application for approval as an approved FPI Learning Provider (CPD Provider 2017) Dear Applicant, Thank you for your application. Please take note of the following: Requirements to become a CPD Provider: 1) The provider must offer high quality CPD activities / programmes that will benefit the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) members and the Financial Sector in the various areas contained and described in the FPI s Financial Planner Competency Profile; FPI Financial Planning Curriculum and FPI Code of Ethics and Practice Standards. 2) The provider has arrangements in place to identify a single named point of accountability for the quality assurance and management of the approved CPD activities / programmes. 3) The provider has the staff, resources and systems necessary to support the development, improvement and monitoring of quality in the core activities of learning and teaching. This includes the effective arrangements in place for quality assurance, development and monitoring of CPD activities / programmes. 4) The provider has administrative systems in place to manage participants on the programme. Clear and efficient arrangements must be instituted to ensure the integrity of the participant records and certification processes. Oversight and monitoring responsibility is clearly allocated and acted upon. 5) The provider has suitable academic support services that support teaching and learning needs of its learners (e.g. library, access to online resources etc.). 6) The provider has effective systems in place to offer CPD activities / programmes. 7) Recruitment, selection and development of suitably qualified and experienced presenters/facilitators to deliver the programme and staff capacity in relation to programme needs are regularly reviewed. 8) Programme evaluation is conducted on a regular basis. 9) Kindly note that certification may request any additional information at any point in time to assess this application. 10) The FPI reserves the right to decline and/or withdraw your application at any point in time should the necessary requirements not be met, maintained or adhered to. 11) This application is subject to preliminary approval and proof of payment of a nonrefundable application fee. (2017 Fee: R including VAT) Should applicant receive preliminary and final approval, the following will apply: 12) Preliminary approval is subject to the applicant agreeing to the CPD Provider Agreement after which full approval may be granted. 13) As part of the recognition as an FPI approved CPD Provider, the FPI has the right to send a senior representative to any event free of charge to quality assure the event (for instance: registration process, topics and speakers) 14) The approved provider must furnish the FPI with any and all marketing material relevant to the event to determine accurate display of FPI collateral 15) The FPI will list all approved CPD Providers and their logos on the FPI website together with a link to your own webpage 16) The recognition of a provider will only remain valid for 12 months from date of approval and is subject to annual re-evaluation/re-certification carrying the applicable evaluation fee (this fee is the applicable annual CPD Provider application fee) 17) FPI reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate the approved status of any FPI CPD Provider should it be found that the CPD Provider did not comply with any/all terms and conditions relating to this application and subsequent approval thereof. The FPI has the right to publish, in any media, the names of CPD Providers whose status has been suspended and/or terminated together with the reasons for such suspension and/or termination. 18) The FPI has the final authority to award or decline the allocation of CPD points. 19) Your company will be required to submit a register of attendees of any event within five (5) working days after such event. Such a register should clearly indicate all attendees details
2 such as, but not limited to, the full names, surname and ID / passport numbers of all attendees. 20) The provider must provide the FPI with evidence that the attendees completed suitable assessments at the end of each FPI approved CPD programme/activity. (Five (5) questions per one (1) CPD point, capped at 20 questions (i.e. only 20 questions for 4+ CPD points) 21) CPD activities/programmes must be verifiable in that the provider must be able to proof that the identity of the person that partook in the CPD activity / programme was verified and proof of completion of such activity / programme was provided to all attendees.
