15 A WORK TERM OBJECTIVE SHOULD INCLUDE A statement of the task that you will be able to perform at the end of the learning process The standard which will be used to measure the success of your performance (e.g., supervisor feedback, drawing completion with <5% errors) The conditions under which the task will be performed

You must be willing and able to work towards a particular goal Set a time frame to create urgency and develop motivation Who, what, when, where, why, how? How much? How many? How will you know when goal is accomplished Choose a time frame that allows you to carry out those steps Believe that it can be met; not overreaching

I will consult with co-workers and use my academic skills and any related software documents to achieve this. I will validate my instructions using company protocol and standards.
23 INCREASE MY KNOWLEDGE OF DESIGN AND CODING PRACTICES Under the guidance of my supervisor and her team, I will increase my knowledge of design and coding practices by developing a computer application, using Visual Basic and MS Excel, to calculate loading on electrical conductors. The application design will adhere to design principles and efficient coding practices learned in class. I will demonstrate a working protype to the team within 8 weeks, to receive feedback.
