4 1.1 vrops - Virtual Infrastructure Performance Monitoring & Guided Remediation In this video you will see how vrealize Operations helps you manage the day-to-day health and performance of your software defined data center (SDDC) by taking advantage of OOTB SMART Alerts. These SMART Alerts are built by subject matter experts and not only tell you when you have an issue but also give you recommendations on how to fix it and provide an 'Action" button to help speed the process. The bottom line is it will lower your Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), make your customers happy as their services will perform better and will make you look like a rock star! 1.2 vrops - Use Actions with vrealize Operations Manager 4

5 Whether they are launched directly from an object from the actions drop down menu or from an alert in order to quickly remediate a problem, actions are Actions in vrealize Operations Manager make managing your data center easier. This video will explore some of the out of the box actions available and how they can be leveraged to help you in your day to day activities. 1.3 vrops - Analysis Badge and Group Focus 5

6 In this video, we will provide a general overview of the Analysis tab and its subsequent details. Under the Analysis tab, we have Workload, Anomalies, Faults, Capacity, Time Remaining, Stress, Reclaimable Waste and Density. Each analysis badge screen has a similar layout which is made up of several fields. Note that for this demo, we have selected a group object as groups have different characteristics and features when viewing badges. 1.4 vrops - Anomalies Analysis Badge 6

7 In this video, we will walk you through the various components and metrics presented in the Anomalies badge. This badge shows when a resource or object is acting abnormally based on the learned behaviors and dynamic thresholds of vrealize Operations. 1.5 vrops - Workload Analysis Badge 7

8 In this video, we will walk you through the various components and metrics presented in the Workload badge. Workload in vrealize Operations Manager could be simply defined as an objects near real-time demand for a resource versus the actual capacity of that resource. In other words, it s a simple percentage measurement of how much of a resource does an object WANT to use vs how much its actually able to get its hands on. 1.6 vrops - Fault Analysis Badge 8

9 In this video, we will walk you through the various components and metrics presented in the Fault badge. vrealize Operations Manager allows outside systems, like vcenter or other management tools, to send in external events which only they can detect to trigger Faults. A fault can be mapped to one or more events for opening or causing a Fault and, when the issue is resolved, clearing a Fault. These faults can then be used to drive the score and color of the Fault Badge. 1.7 vrops - Stress Analysis Badge 9

10 In this video, we will walk you through the various components and metrics presented in the Stress badge. Stress Analysis in vrealize Operations Manager is a way by which we calculate the amount of demand an object requires over a period of time. This analysis looks at the object s workload against its capacity, and we account for the spikes or stress that happened in the last 30 days. This helps in sizing the object to meet the resource demands, including those periods of spikes and stress. 10
