Conclusions - behavior and acceptance Participants prefer active assistance over passive assistance (warnings): ACC and LKS over HMW and LDW Participants prefer system which gives least number of warnings: LDW over HMW Participants don t think that the combination of ACC and LKS is too much which was expected beforehand Combination of ACC and LDW seems beneficial for vigilance, where ACC sometimes leads drivers to perform secondary tasks, LDW keeps them alert How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
How to organize a fleet? Difference between theory and practice... Rationale for FOT Plan Proces Fleet Maintenance How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Rationale for FOT Literature / theory Model study Simulator study FOT Deployment Purpose Knowledge about: driver behaviour (subjective and objective) Technical performance (objective) Increase awareness Stimulation (cooperation, introduction, deployment) How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Plan for FOT (Assisted Driver) 100 vehicles with ACC (full range) and LKS control group without ADAs but with Dataloggers duration one year distribution participants (gender, type, experience, etc.) participants: drive similar routes every day (% highway, rural, city) under comparable conditions (% weather, traffic) stay in the Netherlands Dataloggers transmit data wireless camera s on-board How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Process (Assisted Driver) contacts with OEMs, importers, fleet owners direct contact or publication relation public parties / private parties innovative contract with third party as broker participants: approach customers via showroom approach customers via fleet owner make it interesting for them How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Fleet (Assisted Driver) 100 vehicles with ACC (full range) and LKS 19 vehicles with ACC and LDW (aftermarket) control group without ADAs but with dataloggers no control group duration one year duration five months Dataloggers transmit data wireless camera s on-board no camera s How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Fleet (Assisted Driver) distribution participants (gender, type, experience, etc.) 17 males, 2 females, all but one lease-drivers, most of them motivated and interested in new applications drive similar routes every day (% highway, rural, city) no influence, they drove everywhere under comparable conditions (% weather, traffic) quite some variance stay in the Netherlands some of them went on holidays, with and without car How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Maintenance (Assisted Driver) one contactperson / phone number anticipate some malfunctioning (car, ADAs or datalogger) how long before car is fixed? Usually out of your hands how long before ADAs or datalogger is fixed? You can control this removing systems after FOT How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
Lessons learned be ambitious! You will not get want you want... be creative define a go / no go moment (bottom line) communicate well one projectmanager, full-time! one contactperson for fleet management make arrangements, if possible contracts... How to organize a fleet - FOTnet seminar 2, Brussels 28 oktober
