4 Our industry solutions FOODS Systematic warehouse management for the food industry Freshness is the currency that matters in the food industry. In the last years, the demand for sustainability has increased particularly. Consumers now put a lot of value on high food quality and based on transparency and documentation by seals and quality marks. To meet all of these conditions and to ensure the freshness of products, the logistics processes in the background must work particularly well. We offer an efficient warehouse management software with pl-store Foodline that meets the special requirements in the food industry. In close cooperation with our customers, we have developed special functions for individual areas in food trade. Batch traceability in the dry range, weight handling in freshness and deepfreeze departments, or IFCO box processing in the fruit and vegetables area. There are some special features in the area of building materials, sanitary and technical wholesale in particular. Adjacent sales rooms, special processes in sales or special measures such as distribution of goods from one branch to another are some of these. 5 Logistics Service Providers Efficient management with precise interfaces Management of many outsourced logistics projects from different customers is a great challenge to the logistics service providers, warehouses and carriers. To name only one example: The storage bins are assigned to different companies that often work with different goods management systems as well. At the interface between the manufacturer and customer, logistics service providers must use a refined warehouse management system that is customised to the special features of the industry. We have developed a dedicated service provider module for logistics service providers, carriers and warehouses that is installed superordinate in the warehouse administration system. With the WMS additional function, service providers can manually record orders to permit flexible client administration. Deep-freeze The WMS software for extreme conditions - Resistant and always ready for use Conditions in deep-freeze logistics are literally icy. Therefore, the warehouse management software in particular must work perfectly even at cold temperatures to ensure smooth deep-freeze logistics. Since refrigeration space is expensive, as many goods as possible must be stored in the smallest possible space. The storage bins must be utilised entirely and set up space-savingly. Walking paths must be kept short to avoid putting too much strain on man and machine. Some things must be observed not only in the WMS software applied: the hardware used must be up to facing the extreme conditions in refrigeration logistics as well.
