3 What is? Kerb is an app that gives commercial vehicles the ability to book a Virtual Loading Bay (VLB) on previously restricted kerb space in the city. Kerb also extends loading times in areas where loading is allowed but time limited using a Virtual Loading Extension (VLE). 6 Book a bay in 3 simple steps Searching and Quick Booking With the Kerb app, drivers can conveniently search for a bay via postcode, addr ess or bay number and quickly book a timeslot of their choosing in a few clicks. d Bay Details Drivers can click on a bay to fin out more information including dimensions, restrictions and pricing, as well as detailed photographs of the location of the bay. Booking and Payment Bay bookings can be done well in advance as well as on the same day, with available timeslots visible at point of booking. 8 Benefits of Kerb? Haulier Enables more deliveries per vehicle due to efficiency gains, leading to fewer vehicles entering the city centre. Saves money by reducing the time and mileage spent searching for available kerb space. Reduces number of PCNs received as well as associated costs in administering payments and challenges. Increases safety by enabling deliveries and loading to be undertaken at the most appropriate location. Local Authority Reduces costs associated with administering PCNs, whilst also creating sustainable revenue streams. Provides a tool to reduce emissions by driving change in delivery scheduling and vehicle types. Utilises kerb space at locations where loading and unloading is currently prohibited, allowing timed deliveries at difficult to reach locations. 9 Support for the Solution Air quality is now the big UK driver, now that the detrimental effects of poor air quality caused by Congestion and vehicle emissions have been identified and qualified by institutions including Kings College.
