1 UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE SYSTEM

2 UNIQUE CAMCOPTER S-100 is a highly versatile, autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system developed to provide a unique balance between advanced capabilities and operation in tactical environments. S-100 is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) system, eliminating the need for a runway or launch and recovery equipment. MULTI-ROLE The CAMCOPTER S-100 System is built around a compact helicopter aerial vehicle that can be fitted with a wide variety of payloads tailored to meet diverse user requirements. It is a versatile platform for a wide variety of applications, both military and civilian. (r)evolution > THE S-100 SOLUTION AUTONOMOUS The AV can complete its entire mission automatically, from takeoff to landing, controlled by a tripleredundant flight computer based on proven flight control methods and algorithms. Redundant INS and GPS modules ensure precision navigation and stability in all phases of flight. Missions are planned and controlled via a simple point-and-click graphical user interface. The data link transmits payload imagery to the control station in real-time. 3 ROBUST & RELIABLE The AV fuselage is a carbon-fibre monocoque, which gives a superior strength/weight ratio and utilizes aviation-grade titanium and aluminium drivetrain components. The mechanical design has focused on reducing the number of limited-lifetime parts to a bare minimum. In preparation for future operation in civilian airspace, Schiebel is working closely with civil aviation authorities to assure that the design, production and operation of the S-100 system comply with the relevant regulations. CAPABLE & CONFIGURABLE The AV features two payload bays, side hard points and an internal auxiliary electronics bay. In a standard configuration, the AV is capable of carrying a 25 kg (55 lbs) payload for up to 6 hours. The primary payload bay, located directly beneath the main rotor shaft, is capable of mounting payloads weighing up to 50 kg (100 lbs). The auxiliary electronics bay is intended for additional instrumentation, such as IFF, ACAS or other electronic equipment. PAYLOAD EXAMPLES: Stabilized Daylight/Infrared Gimbal Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) Multi-Spectral Imaging Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) a masterpiece of engineering

4 REAL-TIME INFORMATION The mission planning/control workstation displays AV position and status information in real-time on a user-friendly, aviation-style instrument panel, with integrated checklists. The payload control workstation allows the payload operator to control the payload while also having access to mission planning information. Video viewing, recording and frame capture are also available. FLEXIBLE & SCALEABLE The control station concept is scaleable, from operation from two laptop computers (one for mission planning/control, one for payload control, imagery exploitation) to larger, integrated suites. Mission planning and preparation is done using Geographical Information System (GIS) data; other layers of GIS data, such as threat zones, no-fly zones and other intelligence information may be added for greater situational awareness.
