3 Our organisation in 2006 During the handing over steps at the origin station, our customers are remitting paper based consignment note. In the hand over stations with the other partners RU, we are exchanging our shipments via paper based consignment notes. On a experimental basis we have deployed a procedure for remote consignment notes printing on local sites. We have a network of about forty centres where consignment notes can be keyed-in to feed our invoicing application. The above described process is heavy, expensive, poorly reactive and error prone. We were obliged to create a more efficient procedure Programme de transformation de l ADV - Document 3

4 We have taken the opportunity that the CIM requirements were to be enforced by July 1st 2006 We decided to propose to our customers an electronic based system (EDI or WEB) Based on that decision we launched the elv project: Electronic based acquisition of consignment notes Automatic feed to the invoicing chain Online customer s consignment note linked to the invoice. Electronic based archiving In July 2005, we decided to launch this ambitious project over a two years period Programme de transformation de l ADV - Document 4

5 Total deployment of the electronic consignment note as of July 1st 2008 Our clients remit their Consignment Notes via 3 ways: 52 % by EDI 45 % by WEB 3 % by fax addressed to a service center (with a charging Fee) The objective is reached thanks to the support of the production and commercial teams. 7 Advantages for our customers : The process of remitting the consignment note is the same whichever the evolution of the organization might be (Fret SNCF or Customer) The centralized system allows a work flow between the central sites and the local expedition sites The online help and the validation process guide the operators during the keying activities (Web site) The automatization of the processes for the consignment note working out validates the data (EDI) The online customer sample of the consignment note allows an easy verification of the invoice. The customer can access a light and interactive application which is secured and in line with enforced regulations Programme de transformation de l ADV - Document 7

10 NOMADE: Service road supplement SNCF FREIGHT is engaged in a wide program to modernize its service Motorola offers and itsmc-75 image This device (Personal Digital Assistant) values the place of the local operator on the supply chain. NOMADE gives the ability of a strong link between local operator and local production center. It gives an important function to the local operator: control of collected data in real-time It improves efficiency of supply chain, and reliability of data At least, it reduces delay of collect invoicing elements June 2009: more than 1500 equipped operators Programme de transformation de l ADV - Document 10

11 Advantages for Railways Undertakings partners The printing of consignment note at the handover points is of good quality. ORFEUS is fed with the exact data provided by the customers Automatic transmission by are being experienced with some railways undertakings.
