2 OPERATIONS The VHM-HD automatically operates while installed in a vehicle. It logs vehicle trip data, fleet management data, GPS location and diagnostic messages for subsequent upload to the network via local wireless base station(s). The device can store up to typically 2,000 trip records between uploads. 1. Vehicle arrives back at base station location and automatically communicates with wireless Access Point (AP). 2. The VHM-HD uploads its fleet management records to the AP base station. Support for a virtual AP app on a smartphone or tablet is also available. 3. The AP stores and forwards the VHM-HD records to Yashu s Web Server Storage and/or 3rd party management application(s). 3 VEHICLE USAGE DATA LOGGING The VHM-HD records a variety of different indicators during the vehicle s daily use. Various parameters track and manage vehicle health, performance, fuel use and driver behavior. Some of these parameters are tracked only at upload time, but the majority are tracked every second on a trip-by-trip basis. Reference the following subset of typical parameters which can be logged. RAW SPN PARAMETER DATA LOGGING While the previous Vehicle Usage Data generates memory efficient compressed data structures, it may be desirable to simultaneously log raw SPN information for closer inspection of vehicle operation. Future VHM-HD support will be provided to perform isochronous sampling of a configurable set of SPNs. User entry of the desired SPN s arbitration ID, data size, scaling and bias is possible via the intuitive Yashu Device Utility Software GUIs. Reference the following logging script example showing all configurable field entries for an eight SPN data log. Exposing the various fields (ArbID, Src Address, Byte, etc..) allows the user the capability for configuring any proprietary PGNs and/or SPNs. This allows for OEM specific data gathering beyond the SAE J1939 predefined parameter set. Additional support also includes auxiliary I/O units and unique sensor logging equipment conforming to the SAE J1939 protocol standard Page 4 of 5

5 RAW SPN PARAMETER DATA LOGGING (CONTINUED) RAW SPN PARAMETER DATA VIEWING UTILITY Although Yashu Web Server allows data import of the logged raw SPN information from the VHM-HD device, the Yashu Device Utility Software also provides a basic Data GUI for general inspection of the information in graphical format. Further subsequent analysis of the data can be performed through the exporting capabilities of Yashu Web Server.
