You can also ask local bars, restaurants, community centres, etc. to donate. Change Drive How it raises money: General Donations Did you know that filling a 20oz bottle with dimes can raise around $100? Label some bottles, jars or coin boxes with the walk logo and put them out in your community. Ask local restaurants, retail stores, libraries, etc. to put them out in their stores to help you raise money for the walk. Put one in the break room of your workplace as well to let your coworkers know you are fundraising! Company Matching How it raises money: Matching donations Did you know that many employers will match charitable donations? Ask your company to match your fundraising dollars and double the amount of money you raise! 1

Social Media Blitz How it raises money: General Donations Reach out to your social media followers and ask them for donations. You would be surprised who comes forward to support you!

Give it Up Fundraiser How it raises money: General Donations In the Give it Up fundraiser, participants agree to give up an indulgence for a certain amount of time and put the money towards your fundraising. Have your friends and family give up smoking, coffee, alcohol, buying meals, etc. and have them give the money they would have spent on these things to you as a donation instead. Garage Sale How it raises money: Proceeds from sales Clean out your house and host a garage sale in your community. Put up posters before the event to make sure everyone knows when and where the event is taking place. 2

Talent Show How it raises money: Entry Fee Host a community-wide talent show. Charge an entry fee for those who wish to participate and sell tickets to the show.

Skills Auction How it raises money: Proceeds from auction Sit down with your team members and determine which skills you all have that can be auctioned off.

Celebrity Spelling Bee How it raises money: Ticket Sales Host a spelling bee with local celebrities.

Make sure you have a prize for the winner. Skills Auction How it raises money: Proceeds from auction Sit down with your team members and determine which skills you all have that can be auctioned off. It could be anything from organizing, cleaning, cooking, graphic design, computer skills, etc. and auction off these skills to members of your community. Celebrity Spelling Bee How it raises money: Ticket Sales Host a spelling bee with local celebrities. This could be local radio or television personalities, well known business owners, town founders, etc. Have them spell difficult words and sell tickets to the event. Prom Dress Fundraiser How it raises money: Proceeds from sales Have your teammates, family, friends or anyone else in your community donate their unwanted dresses and start selling them around the end of the school year to teenagers going to prom or end of year dances. 3

5 Exercise Classes How it raises money: Entry Fee Approach a local gym or fitness studio to donate a class for charity. This could be yoga, spin, Pilates, aerobics class or any other kind of class and advertise that all proceeds will be going to the walk. Reach out to your networks and encourage them to attend. Swim-a-thon How it raises money: Donations for swimming distance Difficulty: Medium Have your friends and family donate a certain amount of money per length of the pool you swim (ie. $3 for one length of the pool). The more you swim, the more you fundraise! Foreign Coin Exchange How it raises money: General donations Collect unwanted foreign money from your friends, family, coworkers, etc. Take it to the bank and exchange it into dollars for your fundraising. Dog Walking How it raises money: General donations Advertise your dog walking services in your community. Offer to walk dogs or do pet visits for your neighbours in exchange for a donation. 4
