2 Wiggle Waggle 2014 Event Fact Sheet Founded in 1955 and serving the entire county of San Luis Obispo, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events, and fees for services. Woods is extremely proud of the fact that since moving to its new facility in 2005 more than 97% of the animals that have come into the shelter have found new homes. In addition to providing pet adoption and services to some 4,000 homeless dogs and cats each year, Woods offers humane education programs, summer camps for kids, dog obedience classes, nursing home pet visitations, and volunteer opportunities for hundreds of people of all ages each year. The 22 nd Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk will take place on Saturday, October 18 th, Hundreds of local canines and their families will join us in celebration of the human/animal bond at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo. Our goal is to raise $55,000 which will be used to support programming and operations at the 25,000 square foot Woods facility. You can help us reach this goal and have the opportunity to be recognized as a humane member of the community by becoming a sponsor.
