2 Stainless steel magnet pumps with compact size and simple structure The YMD series comprises of stainless steel magnetic drive pumps that have been jointly developed by Iwaki, a world renowned supplier of fluororesin magnetic drive pumps, and the Belgian company PACKO, known for its high level of technology in the field of stainless steel processing. The physical size of the pumps has been reduced and simplified by the use of powerful rare-earth magnets. The YMD series consists of seven pump models ranging from 1.1kW to 7.5kW. The two small sized models (up to 2.2kW) are manufactured from pressings which have screwed connections, and the five models (from kw and above) are manufactured from stainless steel castings with flanged connections. Since both kinds of pumps are finished with electrolytic polishing, they can be used on a broad range of transfer applications for chemicals, medicines, and fine chemicals, including the transfer of various types of solvents. Compact and simple Compact design with a minimum number of components and powerful rare-earth magnets have simplified handling and maintenance. Ideal for building into other equipment eg. ultrasonic cleaning cabinets etc. Electrolytic polishing The casing is treated by electrolytic polishing to make its surface smooth and better resistant against corrosion. 5 Magnetic drive pumps Front casing A front casing, manufactured from 316L stainless steel casting has flanges available in DIN. The smaller sized pumps (YMD25-100/32-125), are manufactured from 5mm thick stainless steel pressings, pump connections are BSPT screw threads as standard. All the front castings are finished by electrolytic polishing. Rear casing Made of a 1mm thick 316(316L) stainless steel sheet, and designed to withstand a pressure of 10 bars. Since it is fitted to the split plate with screws, it can be detached without any need to disassemble the pump. Note : In small sized pumps, the rear casing is of a separate type. Split plate The split plate has a bearing housing that is installed with screws. Impeller A closed type fabricated impeller is made by welding precision casting impeller vane to a shroud. Note : In case of small size impellers(110, 120 and ) the front shroud is made by press working. Magnet capsule (Driven magnet) The magnetic coupling has been reduced in size thanks to the use of a powerful rare-earth magnet. The entire magnet is sealed in a 316L stainless steel capsule. Spindle The pump shaft is manufactured from a composite (duplex) stainless steel or Chromium-oxide-coated 316L stainless steel. Bearing The bearing is shrinkage-fitted into a bearing housing, which is screwed to a split plate. The different materials, carbon and SiC are available for bearing.
