Provide protective coating in accordance with m anufacturer s instructions around tubing system where underground or where in contact with concrete and Concrete Masonry Unit. Provide field-applied, TC 7000 Epoxy Primer and Tapecoat 6025 Gray (by The Tapecoat Co.) cold-applied high temperature tape coating for pipe surface temperatures to 250 deg. F. 2. Where ferrous material and copper tubing are joined together, use dielectric unions or flanges. 3. Per ASME B16.24 it is recommended that bronze flanges be mated only to flat face flanges. Use ring spacers with full-face gaskets for FF to RF connections. Avoid this type of connection if possible. 4. Use full-face type for flat face flanges. 5. No flange gaskets are required with resilient seated butterfly valves. 6. Isolate copper from steel and supports. 7. Acid core solder & acid flux will not be permitted. 8. For water services, provide ball valve with stem extension for insulation. 9. Wrought copper solder joint fittings and unions are preferred. Cast copper solder joint fittings and unions may be used where wrought coppe r solder joint fittings and unions are not available. 10. To be used at pump discharge only. 11. NPS 4 shall be used to transition from 4 Ductile Iron piping to copper piping only. 12. Utilize welded, solder, brazed, solvent cement, and heat fusion joints for piping systems located above Classified and Controlled Unclassified areas.
