1 Asset Tracking / Construction in Progress Asset Keeper Pro has two features that you may find beneficial; Asset Tracking and Construction in Progress. Asset Tracking provides additional fields for tracking assets; type, location, assigned to, date assigned, and asset status. Construction in Progress allows you to enter costs (materials, labor, etc), for assembled or constructed assets for inactive assets only. Once the asset has been completed you can activate it and the total cost will be transferred to the depreciable cost field. Both options are enabled from the Client Information screen, located under the File menu (or the Client Info icon on the Home screen). Page 1

2 Asset Tracking / Construction in Progress If Asset Tracking and Construction in Progress are not enabled, those options will be grayed out on the Asset / Edit screen and not accessible. Page 2

3 Asset Tracking / Construction in Progress If Asset Tracking and Construction in Progress are enabled, those options will be accessible on the Add / Edit Assets screen Page 3

4 Asset Tracking On this screen, you can track an asset by Asset Type, Location, Assigned To (individual), the Date Assigned, and the Asset Status. Press the Edit button then hit the + key next to the information you wish to add. Once you add an item (Asset Type, for instance) that item is available when adding tracking information for subsequent assets. Page 4

5 Asset Tracking After selecting the + button next to your category, the following screen appears. Here you can switching between Tracking Fields and select the approprioate option after hitting the + sign. The - sign will remove a tracking field. By selecting the action wheel, you may also print the asset tracking information in a formal report. Page 5

6 Asset Tracking Report The Asset Tracking Report shows your current assets along with your tracked assets. Only one asset is using the tracking feature under the TRUCK cateogory, in this example. Page 6

7 Asset Tracking You may assign asset fields by selecting the dropdown arrows and selecting the approriate information. Click Save when you are finished and the asset information will be saved. Page 7

8 Construction in Progress After activating CIP in the Client Information Screen, select the option to make your asset inactive under the Asset Status field when you are creating a new asset, or click the Edit button and select the Asset Status dropdown arrow. An inactive asset will not depreciate or accumulate depreciation until it is made active again. Page 8

9 Construction in Progress In the CIP tab, you have the option to activate the asset, import / export, print, add costs, and change the Status of the Asset for your own internal use. Page 9

10 Construction in Progress: Adding Costs Select the Add button if you wish to add amounts. You may categorize the amounts based on the fields below. You may fill in the date, vendor information, the amount, and any notes that may be relevant. Page 10

11 Construction in Progress: Import On this screen, import your costs in either Excel or CSV format. Make certain to format the columns as shown to import the data correctly. Page 11

12 Construction in Progress: Export To Export the asset, select Export to Excel or CSV options. In the Excel export, you may select to include ALL CIP assets and the headings for the CIP exports. Page 12

13 Construction in Progress: Activate the Asset When you select the Activate button, your costs will be added up and displayed on this screen. These costs will be added to the Cost field of the Asset once activated. Page 13

14 Construction in Progress: Result The new cost is added to the asset and the asset wiil begin depreciating based on the current year. Notice the Asset Status is now marked Active. Page 14
