1 October is Co-op Awareness Month Increase your advertiser s budget without increasing their expenses. Every October, SDS sponsors Co-op Awareness Month to help advertising sales professionals remind their advertisers to take advantage of the vast amounts of co-op funding made available by manufacturers to help subsidize the cost of local advertising. What most advertisers don t realize is that these funds are a percentage of the money that they have paid or will pay to the manufacturer per product. It s important for advertisers to realize that not taking advantage of these funds is simply throwing their money away. With the majority of co-op funding programs set to expire on December 31st, now is the perfect time to remind advertisers to take advantage of these opportunities. Co-op Awareness Month gives publications like yours the reason and the time to verify available funding and create an advertising campaign to use these funds before the end of the year. 2 Script 1: Think you can t afford an effective broadcast campaign because of limited funding? Think again. If your business sells name-brand products or services, you could be eligable for co-op programs which can pay fifty or even up to one-hundred percent of your advertising bill. Whether you sell cars or candles, insurance or ice cream, the manufacturers of the products you sell want you to successfully market their products on the local level.
