Better Performance RESTful APIs are simple to consume, lightweight, and have a faster response time, whereas SOAP APIs are complex and require more bandwidth EMS has made a considerable investment in performance testing for Platform Services Designed to Be More Efficient EMS Will Continue to Invest in Platform Services EMS API in maintenance only mode

31 Integrations An enterprise-class platform is one that integrates data and information with other critical systems within a large, complex organization. EMS is continually expanding the types and number of available integrations through connectors, partner solutions, or the EMS Platform Services (API). Customers and partners can now create their own custom integrations using EMS Platform Services (APIs). Going forward, EMS will continue to invest in new integrations and the capabilities of the EMS Platform Services with each major update. 31

32 Architecture An enterprise-class software platform is one designed to support a large organization s complex business processes and systems, and to scale as needed. Our investment in EMS Platform Services is a giant stride forward to provide a solid architecture built on a standard, middle-tier component and RESTful API. This architectural redesign delivers easier updates, better performance, and a more consistent experience throughout the platform. New features and functionality will be built on the Platform Services architecture, as will updates to EMS access points.. 32
