3 Sakson Group was incorporated under the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt as an independent drilling contractor, specialising in the management of drilling rigs and tubular running services to the Oil & Gas Industry Saknafta Petroleum Services was created, a subsidiary specialising in oilfield services ranging from coiled tubing and reservoir stimulation, to pipeline and process services and the supply of oilfield products. Purchased the first rig and expanded the geographical footprint into Africa, commencing operations in both Tanzania and Kenya A strategic relocation of the headquarters from Cairo to Dubai Saknafta Petroleum Services departed from the Group. However, despite this departure coiled tubing, reservoir stimulation and pipeline and process services are still an integral part of the services offered by Sakson today. Became one of the first drilling contractors to expand operations into Iraqi-Kurdistan, which at the time was considered an unchartered and challenging area. Strengthened presence in Iraqi-Kurdistan and extended operations to the Southern Region of Iraq Expanded capital due to the successes achieved in the MENA region. Acquired four rigs and commenced operations in Turkmenistan and Algeria.
