The Westcon Integrated Avaya IP Office Appliance provides Voic Pro, one-x Portal and Text-to-Speech in a single package running on CentOS Linux. This package provides the same capacities as the individual products running on a Microsoft Windows server without the Windows license cost, complexity of installation and management or security concerns inherent to a Windows server deployment. 3 Westcon Appliance for IP Office Application Server Frequently Asked Questions 1. When should I consider the Westcon Appliance and IP Office Application Server? The appliance and applications have the same capacities as the Microsoft Windows based applications so it will fulfill the requirements for the majority of deployments. It will scale up to 1000 mailboxes and 40 ports. The appliance does not support the following features: UMS Web Mail IMAP and one-x Portal are available as alternatives IVR and 3rd Party Database Integration VB Scripting Voice Recording Library / ContactStore Voic Pro Network Messaging one-x Mobile for IP Office 2. When should I use the separate applications on a Windows server? The only time a Windows server would be required is when your customer requires one of the features not supported on the IP Office Application Server; otherwise, the capacities are the same. 3. Avaya has the C110 in-skin server for IP Office. Why should I use the Westcon Appliance instead? The Westcon Appliance has a greater capacity than the C110 base card. Also, by using the Appliance you can still have no moving parts inside the IP Office. 4. What applications are included on the Westcon Appliance? The Westcon Appliance comes pre-loaded with the following applications: Voic Pro one-x Portal for IP Office Web Control Menus 5. Are licenses included for the loaded applications? The appliance does not include the licenses required for the applications. You will still need to order the licenses as you have done in the past. 6. Do I need a license for the application server? You do not need a license for the application server or operating system. You will still need licenses for the individual applications Voic Pro and one-x Portal.
4 Westcon Appliance for IP Office Application Server Frequently Asked Questions Continued 7. Do I need a Linux Expert to maintain the Westcon Appliance? No knowledge of Linux is required to maintain the Westcon Appliance. All management and configuration is performed via the web interface that your technicians have used in the past. 8. Can I add the Westcon Appliance to my customer s Avaya Maintenance Contract? The Westcon Appliance is not supported by Avaya. Westcon includes a 12 month advance replacement warranty with the appliance. Should the appliance fail, we will ship you a replacement unit. 9. My customer requires a multi-year maintenance contract. How can we accommodate this? Westcon offers and extended warranty up to 3 years. Just add the SKU for the extended warranty to your order. 10. I want specific IP addressing on the server. Can you accommodate me? When you place an order for the Westcon Appliance, we will provide you with a checklist containing configurable items. You may accept the default values or specify your own. 11. Will you program the applications? The appliance comes with the applications loaded and basic network setting configured. We can provide installation and programming services via Westcon Professional Services. Contact your Account Manager for more information about Westcon Professional Services. 12. What version of Linux does the Appliance run? The Westcon Appliance uses CentOS Linux. This version was chosen by Avaya and is included with the software.

Premium support for IP Office authorized partners will be on IP Office release 8.0 and all versions currently supported by the manufacturers and under warranty. For Partners that are eligible for Premium support you will receive express dial-in access to Westcon technical resources along with additional benefits that will enhance your typical warranty support experience. There are two ways for an Avaya Authorized Partner to qualify for Premium support. Meet IP Office sales volume requirements with Westcon to be eligible for our loyalty based Premium Support. Purchase a Premium Support agreement.
