Child Labor laws can be complex. This seminar covers wage and hour laws, youth employment, including work permits, allowable work hours and hazardous occupations. 2 Feb Course Title Times ICTP- Instructor Certification Training Program The Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) is the foundation of the Contren Learning Series standardized training and is required to become a certified NCCER instructor. This three-day class is presented by NCCER Master Trainers Kevin Quist & Jon Sacks. $650/$950 Educational: $550 Gardiner, ME March Course Title Times 4-8 HAZWOPER 40hour with Martha Catevenis Safety is essential in many fields, whether working with hazardous materials or waste, in and around excavations, in industry or manufacturing. This training is intended for workers who remove hazardous wastes and employees who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or related health hazards. Workers must complete eight hours of annual refresher training within 12 months after completing this 40 Hour HAZWOPER course. 12 th Work Zone Traffic Control with Martha Catevenis This course is intended for individuals working for governmental agencies, utilities, and private highway industry who place, monitor, and maintain traffic control devices on public roadways. 12 th Work Zone Traffic Control-Refresher with Martha Catevenis This REFRESHER course is intended for individuals, already completing the full day course, working for governmental agencies, utilities, and private highway industry who place, monitor, and maintain traffic control devices on public roadways. 14 th Impairment Detection This training session is designed to help supervisors recognize and respond appropriately to employee-impairment in the workplace in order to reduce worker accidents and injuries. Participants will be taught procedures to detect impairment regardless of the substance or cause. This class is designed to fulfill the federal DOT requirements for reasonable suspicion training of supervisors. In addition, participants will learn how to develop and implement policies that address impairment in the workplace and are in compliance with Maine's Substance Abuse Testing Law Fundamentals of Crew Leadership This 16-hour course teaches the basic leadership skills required to supervise personnel. It discusses principles of project planning, scheduling, estimating, management, and presents several case studies for student participation. 12:30- $395/495 ABC $150/225 ABC $300/450 ABC
3 March Course Title 21 Contract Law with Verill Dana LLC This program will highlight key risk shifting clauses in construction agreements that all contractors should understand before signing the contract. The key provisions include indemnification, insurance, warranty, dispute resolution, choice of forum, payment, delays, liquidated damages and waiver of consequential damages. We will explain why these types of contract provisions are important and provide suggestions about how to negotiate a fair contract. Times 9am- $75/125 ABC April Course Title Times 3 rd ABC Maine Craft Championships 2pm N/A Augusta 9 th MSHA- Refresher with Martha Catevenis The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) requires all surface mining (i.e., stone crushing, gravel pit, etc.) employees to receive eight-hour annual training. This one-day course will cover generic MSHA training. However, site-specific training will also need to be conducted once you return to your respective job sites. 10 th HAZWOPER Refresher with Martha Catevenis Intended to refresh knowledge of workers who remove hazardous wastes and employees who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or related health hazards OSHA 10hr- Construction with Kevin Quist Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an 4pm/ May Course Title Times 1-3 EM385- Fall Protection with Bob Burdick EM385 requires all Competent Persons who have employees who work at height, to attend a 24-hour class.
