4 INTRODUCTION Axia Companies is owned and operated by two highly qualified and motivated individuals who both have significant development and construction experience throughout the United States. Jeff Schaumann, President Axia Development Brett Rossell, President Axia Contracting Axia Companies specializes in general contracting services and the production of multifamily, student housing, hospitality and senior housing. With extensive background experience in construction and development and a vast knowledge base of the real estate industry, Axia Companies is known for its many successful construction and development projects throughout the United States. ABOUT US The word AXIA is derived from the Greek word meaning Worth and / or Value. At Axia Companies, our knowledge and expertise is key to bringing and adding value to our customer s projects. We not only understand how to build your project, we also understand that the purpose of the project is to build our customer s net worth. With offices in North Dakota and Texas, our experienced team works collaboratively with owners to fully understand their specific needs and goals. We provide solutions to fit those needs and strive to work closely with each owner to achieve their goals. 5 AXIA CONTRACTING: Axia Contracting operates as the General Contracting division. Our staff has extensive experience managing and building multifamily and commercial projects in challenging environments. Multifamily, student housing, hospitality, senior housing, office and various forms of commercial projects are all within the Axia scope of experience. Axia is nimble and flexible as to geographic reach. We have built extensively in most areas from the Mississippi River west to the Rocky Mountains. We currently have active projects in Texas, Colorado, Missouri and North Dakota. Our customers have come to know, respect and trust our team. As hands-on owners, we are committed to serving not only the immediate needs of our customers, but also to developing long-term, strategic relationships as the core of our business. Our expertise and experience provides our customers with the resources needed to complete each and every project successfully. AXIA DEVELOPMENT: Axia Development operates in several capacities. As a developer, advisor, sponsor and investor, we bring years of experience and in-depth knowledge to the development and construction processes. As the Lead, Axia Development is responsible for development projects ranging from $1 million to $50 million. We understand how to manage projects of any size and we also understand that regardless of the size, each project is important to the overall success of our partners. From site selection, due diligence, entitlements, construction, completion, delivery, and sale, we understand the complexities and nuances of market dynamics. The professional experience, expertise and knowledge of our team are paramount to our company s success. With this knowledge base, Axia Development is able to align with joint venture partners to match the demands and needs of each and every project. Page 5
6 OUR PEOPLE Brett Rossell President, Axia Contracting Brett oversees all of the construction projects that Axia Contracting is involved, concentrating on the supervision of estimating, purchasing, scheduling, sub-contract negotiations, and site management functions. He has over 20 years of expertise in the construction and development industry. Prior to joining Axia Contracting, Brett was the Vice President of Construction at Bakken Contracting, and has been involved in the hospitality industry, working on over 400 hotel and timeshare new build projects. He has BA degrees in both Business Administration and Organizational Communications from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Jeff Schaumann President, Axia Development Jeff oversees client services and contract administration for our 3rd Party projects. In addition, he serves as the project coordinator for all merchant builds and other Axia Development projects, with his duties including site selection and procurement, planning and entitlements, architecture and engineering coordination, contracting and construction oversight, leasing, and sales. Prior to joining the Axia team, Jeff was the Vice President of Arista Development/Bakken Contracting, Director of Development at Paragon Development, and the Planning and Zoning Director for the City of Moorhead, MN. He has a BS in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa. Page 6
7 Chad Westrick Operations Manager Chad is responsible for analyzing bid proposals, establishing budgets, negotiating and awarding sub-contracts, working with scheduling, and coordinating with onsite supervisors on day-to-day construction activities. Chad has over 20 years of experience in the residential, multi-family, and light commercial construction field. Prior to joining the Axia team, he worked as Project Manager for Bakken Contracting and spent several years in the hospitality industry as Construction Project Manager for Tharaldson Development, and as Director of Construction with TMI Hospitality. Bruce Towne Operations Manager Texas Bruce is responsible for reviewing bid proposals, negotiating subcontractor contracts, establishing project budgets and directing day-to-day construction activities in conjunction with on-site personnel. Bruce is also responsible for Client Relations, which includes working directly with our clients to insure their needs are being met and they are fully informed of construction progress. Bruce has many years of experience in the residential, multi-family, retail and tenant finish areas of the construction industry. Bruce has worked as General Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent and Estimator for more than 20 years in the construction industry. John Hilz Business Development and Marketing John brings to the Axia family of companies more than 35 years of experience and knowledge of the construction, construction services, and business development industry. John is well versed in multifamily, student housing, senior housing and hospitality. John is responsible for the introduction of the Axia family of companies to the real estate and development communities in Texas. John is a native Texan and holds a BS degree in both Business Administration and Science from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He also holds a state of Texas Real Estate Broker s License. John has been on both sides as an owner and developer. Page 7
8 Aaron Strandberg Project Manager Aaron Strandberg is a 22 year construction and project management professional with experience in both private and public sector work. Specializing in commercial, residential, and multi-family projects. Aaron is exceptionally versatile, having spent parts of his career as an owner, owner s project manager, and constructor. Aaron has exceptional people and communication skills. This diverse skill set and experience has provided Aaron with the ability to anticipate issues before they occur and take proactive measures to manage them. Aaron is responsible for ensuring projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. He assists in planning and coordinating all aspects of the construction process, including negotiating contracts for subcontractors, managing budgets and resources, collaborating with clients, and ensuring compliance of regulatory requirements. Aaron obtained a degree in Construction Science from NWT College. Tim Doherty Project Manager Tim is responsible for managing all facets of construction, from bid proposals, negotiating, awarding subcontracts, scheduling, and working with onsite superintendents to monitor day-to-day activities. Tim has over 30 years of commercial construction experience, including 15 years in construction management. Tim understands and values developing and maintaining relationships to progress projects smoothly and efficiently. Prior to joining Axia Contracting, Tim oversaw construction on various commercial projects in Canada. Ryan Jenson Project Manager Located in Axia s Fargo office, Ryan is responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion. This includes estimating, developing project budgets and schedules, subcontractor negotiations and contracting, coordinating with on-site project superintendents, and ensuring the use of quality construction standards and proper techniques to complete projects on schedule, budget and with high quality. Ryan has experience working on multi-family and light commercial projects throughout North Dakota and Texas. He studied at North Dakota State University, where he acquired his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration. Page 8

PRE-CONSTRUCTION We can assist in coordinating plan development with architects, engineers, consultants, city staff, governmental and quasi-governmental agencies, as well as providing estimating and value engineering services through final plan acceptance. 13 EXPERIENCE Over the past twenty years our principals of Axia Companies have managed construction and development projects totaling in excess of $3.2 billion in 35 states throughout the United States. PAST PROJECTS MULTI-FAMILY Over the past five years, our principals have completed more than 4,000 multi-family residential units for a combined construction value of approximately $400,000,000. STUDENT HOUSING Since Axia s formation in 2015, our principals have undertaken and completed more than 660 units of student housing projects for a combined construction value of approximately $65,000,000. HOSPITALITY The principals at Axia have combined experience of more than 450 separate hospitality projects throughout the United States, totaling in excess of 28,000 keys and across 20 different franchise flags. OFFICE, RETAIL, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL The combined experience of our principals consists of approximately 450,000 square feet of various commercial and industrial product types, across 7 states and with a cumulative construction value of $60,000,000.
