1 BRICK LINTELS STRETCHER COURSE BRICKWORK BRICK LINTELS STRETCHER COURSE BRICKWORK Lintel consist of t lest three courses of bricks bonded with mortr. The first course of bricks, ech verticl joint, hs nchors inserted. Between the first nd the second horizontl sems, nd betyween the second nd the third courses of bricks there is longitudinl rebr reinforcement Murfor -50. The longitudinl rebr t horizontl joints shll go outside the edges of the opening t 50 mm nd 500 mm t the corners of the building. In this wy lintels up to,00 m re mouinted. If bigger pertures need to be mde the sme wy, brcket suspensions GSP or KP-M re used. 2 BRICK LINTELS STRETCHER COURSE BRICKWORK LINTEL FROM LONG BRICK Lintel mounting from long brick is nlogous to the lintel mounting from stndrt brick with the ddition of connections SG/, estimting - connections for the brick t the first row. ATTENTION! Before lying bricks the first row, the ends of the bricks shll be processed with primer (qurz bsed). It is necessry for better mortr, brick nd metl dhesion. 3 BRICK LINTELS SOLDIER COURSE BRICKWORK BRICK LINTELS SOLDIER COURSE BRICKWORK The most common type of lying brick lintels is soldier course brickwork. In this cse the bricks cn be both solid nd hollow. Sometimes, to chieve better effect, first courses of brick lying bove the opening re soldier courses. 6 BRICK LINTELS COMBINED BRICKWORK COMBINED BRICKWORK K MAKE Ø, mm, mm Mteril A clssicl type of brick lintels by ltering full brick nd two identicl hlves. The only importnt condition when selecting combined brickwork is dimensions of the bricks. Their rtio shll be :, e.g. 50х0х5h. The lintel should strt nd finish with soldier course brickwork. The lyout of the lintel is identicl to the lintel mde in the verticl wy. 7 BRICK LINTELS BRICK LINTELS ON BRACKETS BRICK LINTELS ON BRACKETS MASONRY ON THE BRACKETS REINFORCED BY MURFOR In cse of lrge openings (> m), there is risk of deflection s well s destruction of the lintel. In order to void this, suspended brckets GSP should be used. They re fixed to the crrying wll of the reinforced concrete lintel while the free end is inserted into the horizontl joint between the first nd the second rows of brickwork. In this cse, the lod is trnsferred from decortive brickwork to the lod-bering structure through the brckets. Quntity of suspended brckets nd their rrngement bove openings re clculted seprtely in every individul cse. THICKNESS OF THE HORIZONTAL JOINT Mortr Brcket Reinforcement Murfor -50 Reinforcement Murfor -50 Sem with brckets 5 mm Reinforcement Murfor -50 Hook Sem with rebr nd connections 0 mm Hook Thickness of lowered joint with reinforcement nd lintel hooks is to 9 mm. Upon mounting of the reinforcement in the horizontl joint, its thickness should not exceed 0 mm nd in cse of using brckets it should not exceed mm. When plcing reinforcement, there should be no obvious chnges in the thickness of the joint, nd its ppliction should not hve ny influence on the generl ppernce of the brickwork.
