1 McKee and Associates Architecture and Interior Design Addendum No. TWO Date: Project: ADDITIONS, RENOVATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS AT BEAUREGARD HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION OPELIKA, ALABAMA A2.1 GENERAL PROJECT NO BC # A. The following changes and/or substitutions to the plans and specifications are hereby made a part of same and are incorporated in full force as part of the contract. B. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in writing on his Proposal Form. C. See the attached list of the attendees at the Pre-Bid Conference herein. D. Refer to the Advertisement For Bids, change as follows: The sealed proposal shall be received by Dr. James McCoy Jr., Superintendent, at the Lee County Board Of Education, Opelika, Alabama, until 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2017, then opened and read aloud. E. Clarification regarding Hazardous Materials as stated in the General Conditions: If, during the performance of the Work, the Contractor encounters a suspected Existing Hazardous Material, the Contractor shall immediately stop work in the affected area, take measures appropriate to the condition to keep people away from the suspected Existing Hazardous Material, and immediately notify the Architect and Owner of the condition in writing. The Owner shall obtain the services of an independent laboratory or professional consultant, appropriately licensed and qualified, to determine whether the suspected material is a Hazardous Material requiring abatement and, if so, to certify after its abatement that it has been rendered harmless. Any abatement of Existing Hazardous Materials will be the responsibility of the Owner. The Owner will advise the Contractor 631 South Hull Street Montgomery, Alabama

2 in writing of the persons or entities who will determine the nature of the suspected material and those who will, if necessary, perform the abatement. The Owner will not employ persons or entities to perform these services to whom the Contractor or Architect has reasonable objection. After certification by the Owner s independent laboratory or professional consultant that the material is harmless or has been rendered harmless, work in the affected area shall resume upon written agreement between the Owner and Contractor. If the material is found to be an Existing Hazardous Material and the Contractor incurs additional cost or delay due to the presence and abatement of the material, the Contract Sum and/or Contract Time shall be appropriately adjusted by a Contract Change Order pursuant to Article 19. F. See the attached Proposal Form (Revised ) herein deleting Deductive Alternate #5 and #6. G. Clarification: A2.2 SPECIFICATIONS 1. The Owner shall remove all necessary school equipment prior to the demolition of any building. 2. The Contractor shall remove any existing metal building plaques and return to the Owner prior to demolition of any building. A. See the attached Section 01000, Alternates (Revised ) herein deleting Deductive Alternate #5 and #6. B. Delete Section 12710, Fixed Auditorium Seating. To be furnished and installed in separate contract by the Owner. C. Delete Section 12700, Telescopic Gymnasium Seating. To be furnished and installed in separate contract by the Owner. D. Delete the sound System in the Gymnasium and Auditorium. Sound System to be furnished and installed in separate contract by the Owner. Note: All conduit and pull wire for the sound systems at both of these areas shall be furnished and installed by the Contractor and shall be included in the General Contractors Proposal. E. Refer to Volume #1, Sheet CA1.1: All Cafeteria Student Tables, Chairs and Booths shall furnished and installed by Others. C. Refer to Volume #1, Sheet AS1.1: There are several spread footings noted as SF-5 that scale 3-0 x 5-6. 8 ABC Form C-3 August 2001 UNIT PRICES: The below Unit Price establish Unit Prices that the Owner can delete/add quantities from the Contracts required. UNIT PRICE #1: For the removal and disposal of 1,000 Cubic Yards of additional undercutting of unsuitable soft earth material beyond that identified at the Main Classroom Building represented by bores B-1 thru B-3 of the Geotechnical Report. Replacement shall be with suitable compacted and tested engineered fill material per the Geotechnical Report and Section "Earthwork.": 1,000 /CY = $ Included in Base Bid UNIT PRICE #2: For the removal and disposal of 500 Cubic Yards of additional undercutting of unsuitable soft earth material beyond that identified for all other areas/phases of the work. Replacement shall be with suitable compacted and tested engineered fill material per the Geotechnical Report and Section "Earthwork.": 500 /CY = $ Included in Base Bid UNIT PRICE #3: For the removal and disposal of 100 Cubic Yards of rock (classified as 1 cy in size) and the furnishing and installation of additional in-place acceptable backfill material, compacted to meet requirements specified for the affected area, in accordance with Section "Earthwork." 100 /CY = $ Included in Base Bid BASE BID: Amount to complete all work indicated in Contract Documents including the Unit Prices listed above, for the sum of: Dollars $ ALTERNATES: If alternates as set forth in the Bid Documents are accepted, the following adjustments are to be made to the Base Bid: Deductive Alternate No. One: This Alternate shall consist of the furnishing and installation of the Membrane Roof System (07510) in lieu of the Modified Bituminous Sheet Roofing System (Section 07530). (deduct) $ Deductive Alternate No. Two: This Alternate shall consist of the furnishing and installation of all sloped and flat metal canopy covers and their metal support framing and columns where indicated on the drawings and as specified. The brick surrounds and the fiberglass columns at the Bus Canopy Tower shall be included in the Contractors Base Bid. (deduct) $ Deductive Alternate No. Three: This Alternate shall consist of deleting the furnishing and installation of the Storage Building adjacent to the AG Shop Building. 10 SECTION ALTERNATES (REVISED ) PART 1 - GENERAL RELATED DOCUMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION: Drawings and general provisions of the Contract including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division 1 specification sections apply to the work of this section. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS Definition: An Alternate is an amount proposed by bidders and stated on the Proposal Form that will be added to or deducted from Base Bid amount if the Owner decides to accept a corresponding change in either scope of work or in products, materials, equipment, systems or installation methods described in Contract Documents. Coordination: Coordinate related work and modify or adjust adjacent work as required to ensure that work affected by each accepted Alternate is complete and fully integrated into the project. Notification: Immediately following award of Contract, prepare and distribute to each party involved notification of the status of each Alternate. Indicate whether Alternates have bee accepted, rejected or deferred for consideration at a later date. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to Alternates, if any. Schedule: A Schedule of Alternates is included at the end of this section. Specification section referenced in the Schedule contain requirements for materials and methods necessary to achieve the work described under each Alternate. Include as part of each Alternate, miscellaneous devices, appurtenances and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation whether or not mentioned as part of the Alternate.
