19 AGING INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS REPAIRS, UPGRADES All four Wylie treatment plants undergoing major upgrades or expansions Wylie Plant I (60-year-old facility) out of service for repairs Older pipes, pumps and facilities need repairs/replacement to ensure reliability and public safety
20 WATER QUALITY Regional water system operated in partnership with cities Water quality meets or surpasses all state and federal requirements Temporary change in disinfection each spring has raised questions Working with our cities to inform customers about treatment processes and water quality testing Information posted on NTMWD.com monthly and annual water quality reports TCEQ rates District public water system as superior NTMWD conducts over 250,000 tests for water quality annually to ensure compliance with public health standards 20
21 RECENT WATER PIPELINE BREAK STATUS 72-inch-diameter pipeline break in Richardson on Aug. 30 Crews worked around clock to make repairs Appreciate residents conserving water to ensure water for essential needs Pipeline back in service Sept. 3 and crews now repairing street Investigation to determine cause underway will take several weeks NTMWD as government entity, just like city, is precluded by law from paying private property damage from break District paying temporary relocation costs for affected homeowners 21
