Phoenix, AZ, USA About the Event This meeting is a two-day set of presentations on asbestos and fibrous mineral topics, which is geared toward those who work in laboratories and those who use and interpret laboratory analytical data. The meeting will follow the policies established for similar ASTM D22 conferences to encourage the presentation of the most recent work in the field and to allow open and frank discussion of new ideas and interpretation of presented data. No proceedings from the conference will be published, and electronic recording of presentations in any format will not be permitted. This ASTM-International Conference is dedicated to the memory of Michael E. Beard ( ). Mr. Beard served for many years as the Chair of ASTM Subcommittee D22.07 on Sampling and Analysis of Asbestos. This subcommittee remains responsible for developing methods and guides for monitoring asbestos in various media. One of Mike's most valuable contributions was in the long-term stewarding of the ASTM D22 Johnson Conference on asbestos sampling and analysis.
