Having started in regional sites coordination, I had the chance to build a network covering more than 12 Bayer sites around the globe, which was very beneficial during the following rotation in the Supply Center Berlin. Furthermore, I had an assignment in Brazil where I took part in several projects in the pharmaceutical production area that aim to optimize our production processes. Besides this, I especially appreciated the opportunity I had learning new languages and getting immersed in new cultures. I am particularly excited about the diversity of rotations available and the prospect of networking across many functional divisions. Future Leadership Program for Pharmacists in Product Supply This international program aims to provide high potential pharmacy graduates with a broad overview about the scope of activities and responsibilities at Bayer HealthCare Product Supply and to prepare them for a future leadership role. The starting date of the 24-month program is flexible. Product Supply at Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Bayer HealthCare Product Supply steers the subgroup s entire supply chain, from raw material sourcing through manufacturing to distribution, utilizing a global production network consisting of its own sites and those of contract manufacturers. In this way the company aims for continuous improvement of costs, flexibility and supply reliability, as well as maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental protection on a global basis. Achieving this aim is the task of about 17,000 employees at more than 50 sites all over the world.

In addition I was introduced to areas such as active pharmaceutical ingredients production, production technology, and logistics by the respective managers. The experience was very rewarding and provided me with a broad overview of processes and responsibilities at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site. I further broadened my knowledge about Product Supply at Bayer while working in the headquarter functions in Berlin and greatly appreciate that I was assigned to a six month stay at the biotech manufacturing site in Berkeley, USA. Simon Vogel: I experienced the program as a fascinating and intense time of my life. For us as graduates in natural sciences the program is an excellent starting point for a career in pharmaceutical production. My personal highlight was the assignment in Turku, Finland and the close collaboration with my Finnish colleagues. 5 Your Qualifications A university degree in pharmacy with excellent grades (state examination, diploma, master, PhD) Experience in either pharmaceutical technology, analytics, compliance, regulatory affairs or manufacturing Previous experience abroad, as well as in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage Strong strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills Leadership ambition and willingness to go the extra mile Fluency in business English, knowledge of the German language is a plus Sounds like you?
