2 Are you ready totake charge? Lloyd s future success depends on the quality of its leaders. The Developing Leaders at Lloyd s Programme, run in conjunction with the London Business School, is a leadership programme designed specifically for the Lloyd s market. Its content is contextually aligned to the challenges and issues facing leaders operating in the market, whether within managing agents, broking firms or in the Corporation. The London Business School combines cutting edge thought leadership with innovative learning methods to address real business challenges. It has brought together the best faculty and relevant learning content to create an engaging learning experience that provides participants with a practical toolbox to use in the workplace. Completion of a project with specific strategic relevance to the Lloyd s market. Improved networks across the market and a wider appreciation of industry and market issues.
4 PROGRAMME OVERVIEW Each programme comprises a cohort of 25 participants from the Corporation of Lloyd s and the market. Each cohort consists of three modules each of five days duration. In addition delegates participate in the completion of a business related project which helps to embed the learning that they have received. The outputs of the project are presented at the end of the programme to an invited audience comprising key sponsors and stakeholders. Kick-off event A half-day session briefing the cohort and ensuring that everyone is aligned and prepared for the programme. Pre-work: Participants are required to undertake selected study and research prior to each module. Module one Understanding your business, yourself and others Five days at London Business School focusing on the global business environment, leadership frameworks, strategy and decision taking. In-between module one and two, the business project is begun and a 360 degree feedback questionnaire is undertaken with feedback and coaching provided. Module two Leading globally Five days at London Business School to focus on key themes in the global insurance marketplace, including understanding global cultures, developing global teams and executing global strategies. There will also be external visits and activities during this module. In-between modules two and three, delegates present an interim report on their project, and have the opportunity of receiving 1:1 personal coaching sessions. Module three Leading the business Five days at London Business School to focus on organisational effectiveness, future planning, innovation and creating competitive advantage through people. Within each module a business simulation will enable participants to apply the learning to a live situation. Additionally during module three a 24 hour exercise will help participants to develop resilience, practice decision making skills and manage ambiguity. Post-programme Beyond the modular part of the programme, participants will hold a meeting with their executive sponsor to discuss their learning plans, and will undergo a further 360 degree session to identify what changes have been made. In addition the groups will present their project outcomes to an invited audience of sponsors and key stakeholders.
