8 Who is APG? Australian Personnel Global (APG) have, since 1999, delivered recruitment services for all level of skilled workers to a range of industries including manufacturing, mining, government and professional to name just a few. Our corporate philosophy is not just to provide short term staffing solutions but to hire, train and recruit the right staff who will become long-term and valuable employees. Recruit APG s Recruitment commitment is to provide recruitment processes that will: Deliver the highest quality of candidates who have been thoroughly screened and who offer your company experience and knowledge coupled with passion, a drive to succeed, integrity and a positive attitude. Provide staff that will increase productivity Implement and recruitment processes that assist in the overall reduction of expenses. Train Group Training is the easiest way to take on apprentices and trainees. APG can assist in employing apprentices or trainees and can place them with client businesses for as long as needed. We take care of the paperwork for wages, allowances, worker s compensation, superannuation etc, while you allow the apprentice time off to attend any off-the-job training that may be required. Labour Hire APG are specialists in providing outsourced skilled and unskilled blue collar workers hired for short or long term positions. APG currently provides labour hire services to clients operating in the construction, maintenance, fabrication and metal trade industries, mining and agriculture industries and is actively expanding its industry focus.
9 Why work with APG? The success of our many years in business has come from our ability to supply high-quality staff with the right attitude and aptitude to compliment the skills and experience required. APG undertake all recruitment staff to participate in Cross Cultural Training APG commits to providing support and mentoring services all indigenous contract staff APG will undertake rigorous inductions for all new staff so they understand the essential requirements of working on site enabling staff to be fully prepared for their new job. This induction process will include clearly identifying the new employee s duties and responsibilities as well as explaining any relevant reporting structures. APG will work to ensure career advancement opportunities. This includes a personalised career plan for each staff member, access to training that will increase career advancements and assist indigenous staff to apply for senior positions where relevant. As a Group Training Organisation, APG provide more training and upskilling opportunities for all contract staff. APG will ensure that all managers and co-workers of indigenous staff are aware that flexible work arrangements may be needed to meet cultural obligations. Personal Career Consultant Each player s APG Personal Career Consultant will work with the player s management. NRL club and parents where necessary to ensure training and career opportunities that match with the players existing commitments. The APG Personal Career Consultant will work with the player and the employer to ensure cultural sensitivity and flexibility where necessary and will act as a mentor to each player.
10 10 APG s commitment to Indigenous Contract Staff APG has committed to developing the confidence and skills of Indigenous players. This is underpinned by a respect for the Indigenous culture and community life. Mentoring As new employees to the workforce, players will face a variety of challenges and as such need to be supported as they adapt to their new work or training environment. In helping Indigenous players move into the workplace, mentors are invaluable in creating supportive relationships between Indigenous employees and other employees as well as the employer. A mentor provides support, encouragement, constructive advice and assists the player with problem solving. A mentor listens, assists with decision making and helps the worker identify opportunities for further training and career advancement. Training and Development While providing jobs to players throughout their playing career is invaluable, it is training and new skills the players will gain while working for APG that will be invaluable and enable them to advance within their careers and to easily transition to a meaningful career after their football career is over. As a Group Training Organisation, APG undertakes the employers responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices and trainees employment and training and as such also manages the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the training contract.
11 11 Induction APG take a proactive approach in the area of inductions. We have found that not only does this reduce the cost to the company but also helps cut down on the number of candidates who leave after only a few hours as they are not suited to the workplace or the specific role. Our induction for players will incorporate: An explanation of what the business does and how their role fits into the organisation. Clearly identifying the new employees duties and responsibilities. Give the specific reporting structure they will work within. Evaluations Outline the working environment including uniforms, hours of work, breaks, flex days, use of vehicles, leave entitlements etc. An onsite tour of where the working will be. Cross Cultural Training. OH&S Training. Introduction to colleagues and management. Part of our induction will also include administration procedures, advice and assistance to workers in relation to income and superannuation, details of procedures and their contract of employment. After the inductions are conducted, the players will meet have the opportunity with their Personal Career Consultant to discuss the role and to find out whether or their they are comfortable with the position. APG undertakes regular evaluations weekly or fortnightly for staff because it helps: Address any OH&S issues both for the staff member and the employer. Build rapport with the staff where both parties can talk openly and honestly. Forecast any future requirements. Quickly identify and training requirements. Identify opportunities for advancement within the organisation. Address any other issues immediately and effectively. APG believes that constant interaction with both management and staff helps achieve continuity and develops a higher level or productivity.
