3 HEALTH, SAFETY, QUALITY & ENVIRONMENT We recognise that the industries and sectors that we operate in present challenges in terms of Managing Risk. Our passion is fuelled by our history and foundation in protecting our people, environments and assets all over the globe. ALE is cemented in a context of over 30 years of evolving Risk Management though maturing legislation, international standards and client requirements. We as ALE see the value in a safer working environment for all and we want to capitalize on our history and better mitigate industry risks. By investing in our constantly evolving internal infrastructure we are able to maintain our competitive advantage with industry leading initiatives that allow us to implement and use breakthrough tools to identify, assess and act upon all levels of risk to our people, environments and assets. This has given us the ability to identify areas that require attention as well as nominate single areas of concern which is where we then target resources. ALE have committed to lead the industry and influence all of our clients and subcontractors in order to achieve a united approach to achieving an incident and in jury free mindset. In order to achieve this, we have developed and adopted many of the leading systems and process that are seen as industry best practice as well as best available techniques. We have ensured that our core systems which shape the way that we operate are certified and proven to comply with ISO 9001, and ALE know that it is imperative to not only attain the certification but to also have a robust assurance process in place to ensure that the standards are met and maintained. At ALE, we realise that this journey is not to be taken in isolation, therefore we stand by the fact that together we are safer. We apply our knowledge and skills to provide proactive risk management, engineering and planning surveys. We solve the most complex technical and logistical issues, meticulously planning, communicating and executing solutions to help ensure an efficient and safe outcome is delivered to the client. Ingenuity is one of our core values and a trait which is evident in every scheme we design and every problem we solve. With the support of our global teams and an in-house R&D facility, who are capable of designing record-breaking equipment, we can deliver innovative solutions for some of the world s largest organisations.

4 Project Management By investing as much in our people as we do in our equipment, we have a world-class management structure to support our technical potential. The key personnel within ALE have the extensive project management experience required to execute full logistical tasks on all scales, whether that involves a vessel discharge to interim laydown area or direct to site. We have the proven ability to manage all associated aspects, such as engaging external party services, completing load and journey management plans, and applying bespoke restraint techniques, to ensure the job is executed within required timeframes and without jeopardising our Tier 1 safety standards. ALE s ability to deliver this project engagement service was evident in the Gorgan LNG Project, Western Australia. Heavy Haulage Extra heavy and over dimensional project cargo are ALE s speciality, with on-road capacity sufficient for the largest and heaviest cargo that can be moved over public roads in Australia. ALE s diversity of equipment and professionalism of operators was evident during the works executed for the RGP6 Jimblebar Mine Project in Western Australia. From big infrastructure projects like power stations, mine sites and road civil construction, to movements of excavators, road headers, loaders and dump trucks, ALE has the proven expertise to provide our clients with a full service offering. CASE STUDY Overview ALE were tasked with the receiving, storage, and land transportation of 230 modules, with weights ranging between 5t and 240t. Services Required RGP6 Jimblebar Mine Project in Port Hedland, Western Australia The 230 over-sized and over-mass modules were used to construct the RGP6 Jimblebar Iron Ore project. The modules were received under ship s hook using up to 96 axle lines of SPMT at the Port Hedland Port Authority (PHPA), before being transported within the PHPA grounds and set on stools to await ground transportation on conventional trailers. Configurations of both SPMTs and conventional trailers was dependent on each modules dimensions and weight the latter to accommodate for Western Australia s axle-loading restrictions. The largest module was 42.5m long, 13.5m wide, 14.5m high and 227t in weight and the largest trailer configuration comprised of a 4 file 28 row (6.3m wide, 42m long). Transportation from Port Hedland to the Jimblebar Mine site (totalling 450km) was split into four segments, each requiring one night of travel time. The first of which saw the modules (one per trailer) travel in convoy from Port Hedland to Boodarie a staging area located 25km outside of Port Hedland. From here convoys to the Jimblebar site are formed, with the highest priority items given precedence in earlier convoys to site. As public roads were utilised for ground transportation, and Western Australia law states that cargo over 8.5m wide cannot travel during daylight hours, ALE organised and conducted night-time convoys within a rolling road-block under the guidance of Police Traffic Escorts. ALE faced the challenge of reserving and obstructing public roads and required the cooperation of multiple public stakeholders and external bodies. The route also had to negotiate multiple railway crossings of various mining companies in a prompt manner as to not cause delay to their deliveries. As modules were placed on stools upon arrival at Jimblebar, SPMTs then transported the modules to various site locations sometimes up to 5km in distance. 6 7

5 CASE STUDY Gorgon LNG Project, Western Australia TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT PLAN JOURNEY MANAGEMENT PLAN 8 Overview ALE, as part of a wider team, was integral to the construction of a 2.1km jetty on Barrow Island from which Liquefield Natural Gas (LNG) will be distributed worldwide. Services Required The structural steel top platforms weighing between t each are delivered to the Henderson site by barge. The top platforms are off-loaded by ALE s SPMT and temporarily stored on site. ALE designed and installed an impressive 50m high lifting gantry which rotates these top platforms 180 degrees. The jetty foundations, known as caissons, are constructed on site by the main contractor and weigh up to 2,500t each. We elevated the caissons by jacking to allow the positioning of its SPMTs underneath with subsequent transportation to the gantry. The caisson was carefully positioned under the gantry using survey control. The top platforms were lowered by our gantry into the pre-formed voids within the caissons resulting in a combined, single-structure weighing a maximum of 3,760t. We transported the combined structures post fit-out to the Henderson wharf where they were loaded on to a semi- submersible barge. Ballast calculations performed by ALE, and close liaison between our SPMT crew and the barge crew, achieve safe, co-ordinated loading onto the barge prior to its extensive journey to Barrow Island. The services and equipment utilised for the project include: Six x 650t jacks complete with stroke meters facilitating computerised automatic jacking. SPMTs at various configurations, up to 128 axle lines. Lifting gantry consisting of four No. A-frame support legs; two 46m span main beams; three skidded bridge beams of 19.5m span; four 200t strand jacks; and two 500t strand jacks. ALE s Transport Management Plan provides a clear understanding of how the project will be executed and what the client can expect during the term of the engagement, such as journey management plans, permit applications, emergency contact details, and load and lashing particulars. The plan is generated by the designated project team for each engagement and is used as both a cross-reference for other documentation and as a guide for responsibility on the quality aspects of the project. ALE team members refer to the plan to find documents that they need to execute the engagement whilst adhering to ALE s predefined operational and HSQE requirements for the respective movement. The client may refer to the plan for assurance that quality practices are in place to identify any specific practices for which they are responsible.
