2 2 # For safe adjustment and repair # In order to conduct adjustment and repair safely and surely, please be sure to abide by what is mentioned in this manual to prevent trouble. 1. When you conduct adjustment and repair of this embroidery machine or handle electric related parts, you are required to take technical lesson in advance. 2. When you conduct adjustment and repair using this manual, please be sure to use together with instruction with it in hand # Please conduct in accordance with work process in this manual. # In case there are no specific instructions or explanations in work process. please be sure to unplug cord from receptacle. # When you exchange parts, please be sure to use genuine parts designated by us. # Please never remodel the embroidery machine. When you handle circuit boards: # In order to prevent troubles from static electricity, please remove earth from human body. # Please don't touch metal part of circuit board with bare hand as it will short-circuit and threaten to break circuit boards. # When you removed circuits boards from the machine or you store or transport them, please wrap them in static electricity preventive bag and avoid to give shock.

3 3 1. Check of machine number This laser pointer can be installed on HCD machine which has serial number after CDA##### Please note this laser pointer can not be installed on HCD machine with before above serial number.

4 4 2. Additional parts and steps for parts replacement We need following parts set for add Laser Pointer to existing machine. 5 5 3. Removal of outer covers <Check> Please check machine power cut completely Remove thread guide bracket Remove the cover G ass y. (Fixing screw 4 pcs) Cover G 3-2. Remove thread guide pillar and thread stand. Cover G 3-5. Remove the cover E. (Fixing screw 2 pcs) 3-3. Remove thread stand. (Fixing screw 8 pcs : Without Floppy disk drive) (Fixing screw 9 pcs : With Floppy disk drive (Option)) Cover E

6 Remove the cover C. (Fixing screw 2 pcs) 3-9. Remove the cover for needle bar change unit. (Fixing screw 2 pcs) Cover C 3-7. Remove the cover H. (Fixing screw 6 pcs) Remove the arm upper cover. 7 7 4. Installation of Laser pointer and wiring 4-1. Insert Spring lock washer (F),Plain washer (E),Clip (D) into Pointer shaft (C) 4-4. Loosen fixing screw for Guide plate and pass cables through Guide plate F E D C 4-2. Fix Pointer shaft (C) to machine with Screwdriver 4-5. Fix cable of laser pointer by clip (Please keep allowance for cable) 4-3. Set Laser pointer ass y (A) A

Laser Pointer, then fix cables by Cable tie

Fix CN5 relay cable with other cables by

8 Connect CN5 relay cable (B) to CN5 on Drive Board 4-9. Connect CN5 relay cable and Connecter of Laser Pointer, then fix cables by Cable tie (H) B 4-7. Fix CN5 relay cable with other cables by Cable tie (G) Back on the cover reverse steps of [3.Removal of outer covers] Stick Caution seal (J) Center of Lower front panel 4-8. Fix cable by clip at arm Please go to next progress [5. Update of machine control program]

9 9 5.Update of machine control program 5-1. After you replaced all parts for the Laser Pointer, please update machine firmware on this page. + Version of firmware Version: And after than HCD/H A1.11 (File name: and after than HCDHA111) + Refer manual for update *Maintenance Manual for Embroidery Machine (HCD ) 8-1 Notice for update and Initialize machine systems 8-2 Operation order for update and Initialize machine systems How to Update CPU Board Program Or *HOW TO UPDATE PROGRAM (HCD) 1 Notice for rewriteing of program 2 How to enter Install mode of Maintenance mode 5 How to update program for control of cpu boad 5-2. Change Setup data 1) Power machine off, then enter with Maintenance mode. 2) Select Setup and change LED Needle Pointer to Yes from No. 3) Save data. Please go to next progress [6.Adjusting the Laser pointer]

Please adjust then angle of laser pointer depending on thickness of fabric and type of frame. CAUTION: Laser beam (Class 1) Do not stare into the beam. 6-5. Press the 6-1.

10 10 6. Adjusting the Laser pointer Laser pointer indicates the needle position. The beam of laser is coming from right upper side, thus the 6-4. When the machine is stopped, press and, Select OTHER with position of laser pointer can be changed depending on the height of surface of fabric. Please adjust then angle of laser pointer depending on thickness of fabric and type of frame. CAUTION: Laser beam (Class 1) Do not stare into the beam Press the 6-1. For switch ON laser pointer, Press and keep when the machine is not running. For switch OFF laser pointer, Press and keep 6-6. Select Maintenance with and press Press and keep until needle reach to the paper and makes hole. CAUTION: To prevent accidents Press and set a position of moving head to needle No.1. The needle will penetrate the fabric. Please keep your hands clear for your safety Set fabric on the frame, then put white paper to the position of needle and fix by Scotch tape.

11 6-8. Unscrew a fixing screw for X direction slightly and change angle of support (X). 6-9. Unscrew a fixing screw for Y direction slightly and change angle of support (Y). 6-10.

11 Unscrew a fixing screw for X direction slightly and change angle of support (X) Unscrew a fixing screw for Y direction slightly and change angle of support (Y) Fix the fixing screw for X and the fixing screw for Y Check the hole position on paper and the point of laser beam, and take paper out Press several times until display returns to Drive mode.
