3 What is the DOP Annual Conference? The Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference is the largest annual gathering of occupational psychologists in the UK and provides a major showcase for practitioners and academics to present their latest ideas. Our vision for the DOP Annual Conference is to be the conference of choice for all psychologists focusing on the world of work. We see the conference as providing an opportunity for these professionals to obtain insight into current ideas, discussions and research in the area, and network with others in the field. Who attends the DOP Annual Conference? Over 186 organisations were represented at the 2017 DOP Annual Conference, including academic institutions (UK and international), well-known occupational psychology consultancies and independent consultants, as well as major employers of occupational psychologists (in both the public and private sector). In total, there are around 400 delegates at the Conference. The conference will primarily give you an opportunity to meet occupational psychologists, as well as academics and postgraduates of psychology with particular interest in application of psychology to the workplace. The lecture programme includes internationally renowned keynote speakers. Additionally, there will be a mix of workshops, symposia, individual papers and posters presented, plus social activities and networking opportunities. The event will also be publicised on the Society website and in The Psychologist, the monthly publication sent to all members of the society. About the DOP Annual Conference 2018 This year s theme Evolution +/or Revolution celebrates the value that we offer as Occupational Psychologists: Either by generating new, insightful research, and translating this into practice, or by building on what already exists to strengthen what is already an impressive body of evidence and practice. We champion both evolutionary practice and revolutionary ideas and approaches: Submissions are particularly invited in the areas of emerging technologies, change management, OP in a VUCA world, moving with the times, making a difference and changing paradigms. The DOP Conference 2018 will showcase the ongoing excellent work in psychological research and practice, and provide an opportunity for discussion, debate and challenge on how we can best utilise our skills to continue to make a meaningful impact in the world of work.
