CRAVE Magazine is a full-color, seasonal (3 times a year), hard copy and digital luxury magazine that offers our advertisers a cost effective, innovative, and creative marketing vehicle. File Types Accepted: Preferred file type is PDF/X-1a (CMYK only) Other accepted file formats: Adobe InDesign CS6 Adobe Photoshop CS6 (TIFF preferred) Adobe Illustrator CS6 (EPS preferred) Ads We Create: Photography, if needed: $150 charge per photo. With advance notice, we can take advertising photography. Submitting Ads via All transmissions that are ed cannot exceed 4 megabytes in size, and should be stuffed or zipped before sent. Please specify Crave Ad in the subject field of . Send to: advertise@cravemagazinepa.com Graphic Files: All graphic files must be supplied in CMYK (not RGB or PMS), with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher. The file name must be the same as referenced in the InDesign document. If Illustrator or EPS files are supplied that include type, make sure it is converted to outlines, and include the fonts. No 4-color black type. Fonts: Include all fonts for text and graphic files used in ad. You must include both the screen and printer fonts. We support Open Type fonts, Adobe Type 1 fonts and True Type fonts. Supplied Proof: If ad is color critical, supply SWOP-certified proof. Disks: We accept the following forms of media for file submission: CD-ROM Disks or DVD Additional Charges: We are utilizing a Computer To Plate workflow. If an ad needs to be designed or redesigned to fit our format, there will be additional charges Submitting Ads via Dropbox: 1. Visit Dropbox.com sign-up for a FREE account, if you do not already have one. 2. Create a folder specify business and magazine in the folder name. 3. Place ad file in folder. 4. 6 To Be Clear On What We Are and Are Not. Q: Are you Pay To Play? A: We are not a Pay To Play publication. Pay to Play is when an editorial magazine will say IF you buy an Ad we will do an article on your business, in this issue or a future issue. Meaning If you do not pay to advertise in the magazine they will not write about your business. Many are cconfused with that term, and use it incorrectly. Many magazines across the nation do promotional pieces. Some do 4 pages on 1 topic and charge 8 to 10 businesses to be mentioned in the spread etc. We just do it on a larger scale instead of writing on businesses we do less of them on 2 pages exclusively. If you pay to be exposed with photos and a promotional write up that is not pay to play. You are buying a promotional piece to advertise your brand. We do offer packages where you can reserve a stand alone ad, 1/4 half, full, and a two page promotional spread in the same issue or a future issue but both are promotional. We tell the stories of businesses and what they specialize. Q: Do you ever do non paid spreads? A: Yes. We can do a spread on non profits, or attractions or subjects that our readers would enjoy. As we see fit. If a business is in a spread, we do not expect them to advertise, ever. It is simply for our readers enjoyment. Q: Are you a promotional publication? A: Yes We are a promotional publication. We do not sell our magazines on stands. We are more on the lines of a travel tourism, coffee table, book that promotes local regional businesses. Our fans look forward to each issue and hold on to them because of the Themes. Q: How do theme spreads work? A: We do Large themed spreads on different topics in each issue at a fraction of the cost. These spreads are discounted to offer large stunning exposure to small and mid size businesses for less. Say I want to purchase a 2 page spread but not in a specific theme. but as a stand alone in one or more issue? We offer stand alone 2 and 4 page spreads they are not as discounted as the themed spreads and can be in as many issues as you like. Our themed spreads are different in each issue. Q: If I pay do I get to keep my photos? A: We do not have a staff photographer meaning we do not pay one photographer a salary and then own the rights of the photos and then call you to sell them to you. While there is nothing necessarily wrong in doing this. Its just not our model. We use some of the best commercial photographers in the industry. We pay per shoot and only license the photos to be used for magazine purposes. We do this to keep photographers employed. What you are paying for is not the photoshoot, which is obvious by the price of the promotional piece.
