Page: 3 f 26 1 Classificatin f prducts 1.1 Type A type f heat pumps is defined by the use f the same: Heat surce Heat sink Driving energy (gas, electricity etc.). The types cvered by the KEYMARK Scheme are: Outdr air (r exhaust air)/water - heat pumps Water/water (including brine/water) - heat pumps Direct expansin/water - heat pumps Air/air utdr air/recycled air heat pumps and air cnditiners except single duct and duble duct units The types are declared by the manufacturers. 1.2 Sub-type A sub-type is part f a type. Heat pumps with an identical refrigeratin circuit design, including same refrigerant and mass f refrigerant are cnsidered as being the same subtype if they fulfil all cnditins belw: Same cmpressr: identical (same manufacturer and cmmercial reference) Same cndenser: identical (same manufacturer and cmmercial reference) Same evapratr: identical (same manufacturer and cmmercial reference) except fr air/air multi-split units Same defrst prcess (when relevant) Expansin device: same technlgy In additin, fr cmbinatin heat pumps and heat pumps nly designed fr dmestic ht water (DHW) prductin: Same tank vlume Same heat exchanger Fr air/air multi-split units the sub-type classificatin nly applies t utdr unit. Sub-types are declared by manufacturers but the final decisin n sub-types rests with the certificatin bdy. 1.3 Mdel A sub-type may cnsist f several different mdels, i.e. heat pumps using identical refrigeratin circuits, but therwise differ in design. Samples fr type testing shall be selected by the certificatin bdy. Fr the sampling prcess the applicant shall prvide a minimum f three units (traceable by serial numbers) fr the sub-type selected by the certificatin bdy; frm which certificatin bdy will select ne randm unit (traceable by serial number) t be tested by recgnised labratry. The certificatin bdy als indicates t the manufacturer the testing cnditins (climates; temperature applicatin and part lad cnditins). The manufacturer shall send the sample t a recgnised labratry and infrm the certificatin bdy within the fllwing mnth abut the schedule and place fr the tests.

Surveillance (including psitive assessment f certificatin bdy) has t be cmpleted nt later than 3 mnths after the prcess has started. The prcess starts with the factry inspectin where mdels are chsen by recgnised inspectr fr surveillance test. Surveillance test prcess and rules apply t each type independently. Rerating rules shall be applied t each failed test accrding clause 4. The surveillance prcess is passed if bth factry inspectin and test are cnfirmed t be cnfrm by the certificatin bdy. 3.1 Factry inspectin Factry inspectin shall be perfrmed at each manufacturing site at least every 12 mnths accrding Annex B. 3.2 Surveillance test prcess Peridicity f surveillance test depends n the test results and number f manufacturing sites. A surveillance test is passed when the certificatin bdy has cnfirmed that all the certified perfrmances that are tested are cnfrmed t the declared perfrmances accrding the scheme requirements. A surveillance test is failed when at least ne f the certified perfrmance that is tested deviates frm the declared perfrmance in a higher level than the defined tlerances. The certified perfrmances are listed in scheme rules dcuments clause 8.

Page: 13 f 26 3.2.1 Mdel and unit selectin rules The mdels t be tested shall be selected by certificatin bdy and units shall be chsen by recgnised inspectr. Fr a surveillance test, ne mdel f a sub-type per type is selected by the certificatin bdy. If heat pumps fr space heating and cmbinatin heat pumps are certified a cmbinatin heat pump shall be selected. One unit f the selected mdel shall be chsen by a recgnised inspectr frm the existing stck f prducts r directly frm the prductin line. The unit selectin may be dne during an annual factry inspectin r during a specific visit upn certificatin bdy request. In case f split type heat pump, this rule applies t the indr and utdr parts f the selected mdel. 3.2.2 Peridicity Single manufacturing site Regular surveillance test peridicity is 24 mnths. If the surveillance test is passed, then the next surveillance will be perfrmed after 24 mnths. In case the surveillance test is failed, the next surveillance, n anther mdel f anther sub-type r same sub-type upn decisin f certificatin bdy, shall be perfrmed after 12 mnths. The unit t be tested shall be chsen during factry inspectin. In case this test perfrmed 12 mnths later than the first ne is als failed, anther test, n anther mdel f anther sub-type r same sub-type upn decisin f certificatin bdy shall be perfrmed after 6 mnths. The unit t be tested shall be chsen by a recgnised inspectr. The peridicity remains ne test every 6 mnths until the test is passed. Then the regular peridicity applies again. Multi manufacturing sites If the manufacturing f a type takes place at mre than ne manufacturing site, the regular surveillance test peridicity is 12 mnths. The unit t be tested shall be selected frm a different manufacturing site every 12 mnths. Fr air/air type, nly the manufacturing sites f the utdr units are cnsidered fr the fllwing prcedure. If the surveillance test is failed the regular surveillance test peridicity as described abve ges n but in additin, anther unit manufactured at the same manufacturing site shall be tested after 12 mnths. In the case f lw temperature heat pumps, the sund pwer level is tested at lw temperature cnditin, in the case f medium temperature heat pumps r cmbinatin heat pumps, the sund pwer level is tested at medium temperature cnditin. Fr the perfrmances nn-listed in the Scheme Rules clause 8 that are tested (eg: EN 14511-2 perfrmances), in case measured data dn t match with declared data, the rerating rules apply t all the mdels in the sub-type in which the tested unit belngs t. Several perating mdes are tested during surveillance tests: acustic, heating, cling and DHW. Rerating rules apply independently t each mde and t the characteristics fr which the tlerances are set in clause 4.2. that has failed within this mde ð E.g.: failure n utdr unit sund pwer level test leads t rerating f sund pwer level f the utdr unit f the mdels f the cnsidered sub-type. 4.2 Space heating/cling perfrmances rerating rules 4.2.1 Perfrmances accrding t EN 14511-2 r t EN 15879-1 Tlerance n heating capacity and COP measured at standard rating cnditins accrding t EN 14511-2 is equal t -8%. If bth the measured heating capacity and COP are nt lwer than 8% cmpared t declared values, then the EN 14825 tests shall be perfrmed accrding the flwrate declared by the applicant.

Fr the space heating test t be cnsidered as passed the space heating tests fr all declared climates need t be passed. a) Test at bivalent temperature cnditin Bivalent temperature cnditin shall be tested first. If the measured heating capacity at T biv fulfil the fllwing criteria: P @ T BCD = E FGHIJK ELMIJK P NOPQRSON TOUCVWX ± 10% Equatin 4 then the test cntinues. If nt, the test is interrupted. If the calculated SCOP is lwer than -8% cmpared t the declared SCOP, the declared SCOP and η shall be rerated. The rerated SCOP and η shall be equalled t the calculated nes. SCOP and η fr each mdels f the sub-type fr each declared applicatins and each declared climates shall be calculated accrding the declared part lad data and auxiliary mdes cnsumptin. Each SCOP being lwer than the calculated value -8% shall be replaced by the calculated SCOP and η shall be recalculated accrdingly If at least ne f the measured COP is lwer than -8% cmpared t the declared COP then, all the nn-tested EN 14825 part lad cnditins and ne auxiliary mde cnditin (chsen by the certificatin bdy) shall be tested.
