Create a new app Launch Qlik Sense Desktp. Create a new app. Lad data Name the app: My Sales Analysis. Create and Open app. Use the Add data frm files and ther surces tile (r a drag & drp the data file) in rder t add the Excel data t the app (frm the file CSA_ExerciseData.xls). Review data Lad all fields frm the spreadsheet, by clicking the Add data buttn. Navigate t the Data manager ( ) view, and pen it in a new tab, in rder t learn mre abut this table. Open the Data manager s table editr view by clicking n the icn alng the bttm f the view. Example Dwnlad The example file prvided fr this exercise is an Excel wrkbk which cntains data n a single wrksheet. The example file is prvided within the zip archive, available fr dwnlad frm the learning mdule site. Extract the files frm the zip archive and place in a cnvenient lcatin in yur Windws directry. The file fr this exercise is titled: CSA_ExerciseData.xls The table cntains sales data frm a department stre supply cmpany. 2 Develp a sheet using the Insight advisr Return t the tab displaying the empty sheet view, and, frm beneath the Insights ( ) panel, click the buttn t Generate insights - based upn the entire data mdel. Lcate the map titled: Distributin f sum(sales) fr Cuntry, and Add t sheet. Use the panel alng the left t select the fields: Prduct and UnitPrice. Lcate the bar chart titled: sum(unitprice) by Prduct, and Add t sheet. Clear the search field ( ). Type the fllwing term int the search ( ) field: quantity Lcate the histgram titled: Values fr Quantity, and Add t sheet. Turn ff Insights ( ), and evaluate the sheet yu have created. It shuld appear as yu see belw: Tggle the sheet int Edit mde ( frm My new sheet t My insights. ), and use the prperties panel t change the title f the sheet HINT: Shw the prperties panel (using the icn in the lwer-right crner) and d nt activate any f the charts n the sheet. 3 Develp a sheet using Chart suggestin assistance Use the sheets drp dwn menu ( ) t Create new sheet. Title the sheet: My suggestins. Frm the Fields ( ) sectin f the assets panel, drag & drp the Sales field nt the visualizatin area. A KPI chart type results, which displays the sum f sales values fr the entire data mdel. In additin, the Chart suggestins switch at the tp f the prperties panel is set t n. Drag & drp the Cuntry field nt the KPI chart, ensuring that the ghst image cvers the entire chart. Drag & drp the YearMnth gruping nt an empty space in the visualizatin area. A table chart type results. Drag & drp the Sales field t cver the entire table which currently displays year and mnth values fr rders. A line chart results, due t the fact that a date dimensin and a field f measure values have been supplied t this visualizatin. Drag & drp the Quantity field t cver the entire line chart.
