Pikington Spacia Revoutionary vacuum gazing soution. Pikington Spacia vacuum gazing Advanced Pikington Spacia technoogy is the Word s first commerciay avaiabe Vacuum Gazing. It provides a simiar eve of energy efficiency as modern doube gazing, but in a unit that is typicay ony a quarter of the thickness. This brings a new degree of therma performance to oder buidings, and opportunities for thin gazing in new buidings. Pikington Spacia offers a rea soution to the probem of baancing historica preservation with modern comfort and environmenta requirements. It may even aow the use of the origina frames as we as authentic copies and in most cases, can be used in secondary gazing appications. The importance of energy-efficient gazing Advances in technoogy have made windows a significant contributor to the energy efficiency of new homes. Current restrictions, which were put in pace to preserve the character of the nation s buidings, in some circumstances prevent the improvement of therma efficiency by not permitting upgrading from singe gazing. So, whist these properties ook appeaing, they carry a heavy price in terms of reduced interna comfort eves, high heating costs and carbon footprint. Pikington Spacia Tota thickness 6.5 mm vacuum gazing can provide a huge step change in window energy efficiency in oder properties without sacrificing the stye and appearance of the window frames. Protection cap The vacuum creation process in Pikington Spacia resuts in an extraction point in one of the panes, ocated 50 mm from the gass edge. This point is covered by a sma permanent cap (12 mm diameter), which must remain on the gass surface and shoud be gazed towards the inside of the buiding. You can choose to have the cap positioned in any corner of the pane providing this is made cear prior to the order being paced. Image courtesy of Gadd Properties Ltd.

Low-e gass Cear foat Protection cap (12 mm diameter) Vacuum gives exceent therma performance with a gap of ony 0.2 mm Microspacers (20 mm apart) Pikington Spacia How it works Pikington Spacia vacuum gazing consists of an outer pane of ow-emissivity gass and an inner pane of cear foat gass, separated by a micro spacer grid of sma piars each measuring just 0.5 mm diameter, set 20 mm apart, which are roboticay positioned, with inteigent camera checking. This grid ensures that the two gass panes are kept a fixed distance apart. The edges are weded to achieve a hermetic sea. Air is extracted to create a vacuum via the extraction point, rather than being air or gas fied. The resut is an exceent therma performance from a unit that is ony sighty thicker than singe gass. Tota thickness 6.5 mm
A new eve of performance for oder buidings. Pikington Spacia provides simiar energy efficiency performance as a standard doube gazed unit containing a ow-emissivity gass, such as Pikington K Gass but in a much thinner profie. It is therefore perfecty suited for use in origina, refurbishment or new thin profie frames, aowing the property to maintain its origina appearance. Pikington Spacia provides a cost-effective method of improving the energy efficiency of oder properties where gazing choice is restricted, or where the origina frames are a desirabe feature. Four times better therma insuation than Interna condensation risk eves are singe gazing, heps to reduce heat oss significanty reduced when compared to from the property Suitabe as a repacement for singe gazing in origina frames, to retain the appearance of oder traditiona buidings Suitabe for other appications where use of thinner, ow-weight gazing is desirabe, such as siding box sashes 10 year warranty with an even onger ife expectancy Can be used in secondary gazing appications for enhanced therma performance Reduced interior noise eves of Rw(C;Ctr) 35(-1;-3) when compared to 29(-2;-3) for 4 mm singe gazing Greater interna comfort, as cod spots cose to the window are reduced singe gazing Compatibe with most siicone seaants and a broad range of putties for a traditiona finish Can be eaded to match traditiona designs Face appied bead can be used to mimic existing Georgian designs if one arge pane is preferred to using severa sma panes A range of non-rectanguar shapes, for fexibiity with origina frames A sandbasted version is avaiabe where privacy is required Proven soution; successfuy used in Japan for over a decade Large maximum sizes to accommodate most gazing areas Improves energy efficiency, reduces carbon emissions and your heating bis Pikington Spacia Soar Actua Centre Pane Tota Soar Heat Light thickness Refectance U-vaue Transmittance Direct Transmittance Product (mm) (U g W/m 2 K) Refectance Transmittance (g vaue) 6 mm Pikington Spacia 6.5 ± 0.1 0.78 0.13 1.4 0.62 0.17 0.67 Traditiona Gazing options 4 mm Pikington Optifoat 4 mm ± 0.2 0.9 0.8 5.8 0.85 0.08 0.87 4 mm Pikington Optifoat / 16 mm air / 4 mm Pikington K Gass 24 mm 0.75 0.18 1.7 0.62 0.16 0.74 Max size: 2,400 mm x 1,350 mm Min size: 350 mm x 200 mm.
