2 An important responsibiity For amost 60 years, Lindab has deveoped products and soutions that simpify construction, improve energy efficiency and reduce resource consumption. By deveoping innovative and smart products and soutions taiored to different types of buidings e provide the conditions for a heathy indoor cimate hich increases e-being and performance. Our sustainabiity ork is an integra and natura part of our strategy. We strive to create vaue for each section of the vaue chain, from the contact ith suppiers to those ho ive and ork in the buidings e are invoved in and take responsibiity for. In order to strengthen our contribution to sustainabe deveopment e focus on taking more responsibiity for the projects e are invoved in and deveoping more compete soutions ithin construction and ventiation. This ork has intensified in recent years, and e can see that our efforts are paying off. Lindab has reported on its sustainabiity ork according to GRI since 2009, and for 2016 the reporting i be in accordance ith the fourth generation guideines (G4), Core eve. Greenhouse Gas Protoco Internationa guideines on cacuating greenhouse gas emissions. Lindab s Code of Conduct Genera interna poicy document on sustainabe business ethics. The code is based on the UN Convention on Human Rights and describes the principes that shoud form the basis for the professiona reationships empoyees have ith each other as e as ith sharehoders, business contacts and other stakehoders. Governance and organisation The CEO has utimate responsibiity for Lindab s CSR ork. Lindab s CSR Manager is responsibe for impementing the CSR poicy and is assisted by oca quaity and environmenta managers around Europe. There is aso cooperation ith other functions in the Group, such as HR, Purchasing, Production, Markets and Lega as e as the saes companies. Lindab s ongoing environmenta ork is governed by the Group s environmenta poicy. Direct responsibiity for environmenta issues rests ith the oca companies. Overa responsibiity for the deveopment, coordination and monitoring of environmenta and sustainabiity ork is found at Group eve. Distribution of revenue to stakehoders In 2016, Lindab s net saes amounted to SEK 7,849 m (7,589) and consisted of the sae of the company s products and services. The buk of this as distributed among the company s stakehoders. Lindab has appied the Goba Reporting Initiative (GRI) guideines for reporting of sustainabiity information since 2009, this year for the second time according to GRI G4 Core. 7 Lindab s environmenta ork Lindab is engaged in severa environmenta projects, incuding the drive to increase energy efficiency and reduce the amount of scrap produced. These initiatives have contributed to a reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions per krona earned. Hoever, there has been an increase in tota MWh, mainy due to the production unit added through the acquisition of IMP Kima. The authorisation required for Lindab s activities is chiefy made up of business icences for industry. No breaches of authorisation conditions or oca environmenta egisation occurred in The risk of accidents that coud have a negative impact on the environment is considered remote. Lindab has ensured that environmenta risks are taken into consideration hen, for exampe, acquisitions or major changes are made. Ony production units that ere part of the business at the beginning of the year are incuded in the cacuations. Compared ith the previous sustainabiity report, production units have been added through the acquisitions of IMP Kima and Nather. Production The modern manufacturing processes used by Lindab in the production of sheet meta products have a reativey imited impact on the environment. This might incude sma emissions of dust, sovents from paint and metas in aste ater. No unforeseen emissions ere reported during the year. Leakage inspections are made of cooing/ heat pump equipment to prevent ozone-depeting substances from eaking out. No emissions ere recorded during the year. for a sma part of the product s tota impact on the cimate. Environmenta requirements are imposed on the centra procurement of a transport. A Sedish company cars are hybrid cars today. For other countries, there are cear demands for o CO 2 emissions ith the goa that hybrid cars aso i be used in these countries in the ong term. Effuents and aste The aste products generated during production consist primariy of scrap meta. Scrap meta is recovered competey and other aste is recyced up to neary 90 percent. A proportion of incoming and surpus packaging materias is reused on site. Anything not used is sorted and disposed of in accordance ith appicabe reguations. Hazardous aste is taken care of by oca aste management companies. There is no information concerning export of any hazardous aste. Chemicas Lindab uses chemicas in production and is subject to REACH (Registration, Evauation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicas), a reguation of the European Union. The business is defined as a donstream user as Lindab neither manufactures nor imports chemica products to the European market. Lindab s ork in this area is mainy focused on communication ith suppiers and customers on REACH-reated issues. 8 Significant issues For the financia year 2016, Lindab reports on its sustainabiity ork in accordance ith the Goba Reporting Initiative (GRI) and fourth generation guideines (G4), Core eve. It is centra to G4 to focus the sustainabiity ork on those issues that are considered to be of greatest importance to the company and its stakehoders. The method for defining the most significant issues foos the GRI G4 guideines and consists of identification, prioritisation and vaidation. The most significant issues for Lindab have emerged by eighing up an anaysis of the company s strategy and risk profie, stakehoders vies as e as actua impact. Aignment is continuousy ensured internay and ith Lindab s stakehoders to ensure that the issues are aays reevant to the market, society and Lindab. Identification A so-caed gross ist of significant issues has been dran up based on GRI aspects, goba drivers, the UN Goba Compact and Lindab s strategy. Prioritisation In order to be abe to assess hich issues to prioritise, orkshops ere hed ith representatives for a number of strategic functions in the Group. The issues ere anaysed on the basis of their impact on the business and various stakehoders. Vaidation In order to verify that the right issues had been identified and prioritised, externa stakehoders such as customers, suppiers and investors ere asked to rate and rank the issues. Continued vaidation and updating take pace continuousy through interna orkshops and stakehoder diaogue. The materiaity anaysis resuted in 13 significant issues hich refect Lindab s economic, environmenta and socia impact. The issues have been grouped under the four areas hich make up Lindab s foundation Products and soutions, Saes and distribution, Production and processes and Empoyees (see page 13 of the annua report). During the year, Lindab has engaged in an ongoing diaogue ith representatives for these groups in order to discuss the sustainabiity issues that have been assessed by the stakehoders to be important for Lindab. These issues reate to business ethica aspects such as anti-corruption and free competition, environmenta aspects such as ne, innovative energy-efficient products and the Group s energy consumption and environmenta impact, among other things. 8
