Cell DOMICILE Languages Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Urdu, English, Sairaikee and Pashto PROFESSIONAL PROFILE Prof. Gul Hassan; a professional in Weed Science is currently serving as a Coordinator Masters Program in Botany at the Department of Weed Science, KP Agricultural University, Peshawar, Pakistan.Earlier he retired from the university service as a Professor and Chairman of Weed Science Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University, Peshawar, Pakistan till Nov. 17, 2010, hailing from Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwar Province of Pakistan, received his Doctoral degree in Crop Science from the Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA in 1992.He is still working on contract in the aforesaid department. Earlier he received his B.Sc Hons. and M.Sc Hons. Agri. Degrees in Plant Breeding from the University of Peshawar and the University of Agriculture, Faislabad, Pakistan, respectively. Dr. Hassan is a prolific writer having >230 publications in the refereed journals and national and international conferences at his credit. He is referee to about a dozen national and international journals. He has been a researcher for about 29 years till he joined Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture University, Peshawar Pakistan in Based on his competency and achievements he rose like cream to the rank of a Professor BS-21 and then as the Chairman of Weed Science Department in a very short time of only 5 years. Credited to be in the team to develop curricula for the graduate (Masters and Ph.D) and undergraduate programs in weed science at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University, Peshawar and to initiate the Weed Science Department at the university in 2000 as one of the pioneers teaching weed science courses in Pakistan. He has been the General Secretary of the Weed Science Society of Pakistan since 1996 and Asia-Pacific Weed Science Society (International body) since He has been the Principal Investigator of 6 already completed research projects. His professional skills distinguish him among the professionals in the country and abroad.
