BIO-MIMICRY [ From the Greek bios life and mimesis imitation]

Conscious emulation of nature s genius

Biomimicry 3.8 identifies solutions used by natural organisms to answer design challenges, and provides training to enable innovators to successfully integrate the practice of biomimicry.

Biomimicry Go FISH: Find your match! Green cards are biology Blue cards are industry Match natures solutions to an industry need/application Each card has 1 match

Introduction: business context concepts Genius of Biome California Business Plan Summary HOK s California Practice Biomimetic research & design endeavor in collaboration with HOK LA and Biomimicry 3.8. Founded by Janine Benyus; the author of Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature, Biomimicry 3.8 is an organization which helps us learn from and emulate natural models in order to promote the transfer of ideas, designs, and strategies from biology to sustainable human systems design. This research will help us define specific Nature s Challenges from which we will create a range of Design Champions in Land Planning, Architecture, Interior Environments, MEP & Structural Engineering. This is an opportunity for us to both use our projects as research & design explorations and to address problems we ve only begun to consider. There is an opportunity for everyone interested to be involved at some level.
