Descrition The Human Breast Cancer miscrit mirna PCR Array rofiles the exression of 84 mirnas known or redicted to alter their exression during breast cancer initiation or rogression. This array rovides cancer researchers with a convenient way to quickly analyze the mirnas most relevant to breast tumorigenesis. Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease with multile classifications. For examle, not all breast tumors exress the estrogen recetor, necessary for treatment via selective estrogen recetor modulators (SERMs). In addition, some breast cancers rogress under chemotheraeutic treatment and become resistant to certain drugs. Intense research into carcinogenic mechanisms has identified dysregulated genes, either via functional defects due to somatic mutations, or gene exression alterations due to eigenetic changes. mirnas eigenetically regulate mrna, and therefore mirna dysregulation will affect target mrna exression. Microarray exression analyses of mirna have discovered otential biomarkers of breast cancer oncogenesis, and many results have been followed u with functional studies. This array includes mirnas that are dysregulated in estrogen recetor-resonsive or drug-resistant breast tumors. mirnas with known functions in breast cancer are included, as well as mirnas hyothesized to be involved, either via microarray studies or as a bioinformatically-redicted regulators of known breast cancer genes. The rofiling results from this array may yield insights into the molecular mechanisms behind the athogenesis of breast cancers. A set of controls resent on this array enables data analysis using the Ct method of relative quantification, assessment of reverse transcrition erformance, and assessment of PCR erformance. Using SYBR Green-based real-time PCR, the exression of a focused anel of mirnas related to breast cancer can be easily and reliably analyzed with this miscrit mirna PCR Array.
